After getting to the chateau, they put the beer in the fridge and headed out to make a fire.
Pope came over and they all hung out together for a couple hours. Once it got late, everyone went inside to go to sleep except for Kie and JJ.
They sat by the fire and talked about little things at first.
"So... your dad knows" kie said, bringing it up so she could know how he really felt about it
"Yeeah" JJ sighed "he knows"
"You know... you really don't have to talk to him" Kie said "he doesn't need an explanation"
"Yeah, I know" JJ shrugged softly "i just wanna ask a few questions.... I wasn't expecting him to know. I mean, I was already surprised that I even saw him again and then.. bam.. 'hey son, heard u gotta kid'"
"He didn't know about the abortion?" Kie asked
JJ shook his head
"And when I told him, he just.." JJ thought about it and deep down, his words hurt. "He just said his normal asshole things yk"
"I can't believe my dad told him" Kie said "I mean since when do they ever even talk"
"My question exactly" JJ scoffed "and- how does that even get brought up"
"I dunno" kie shook her head
"I'm gonna talk to him" JJ decided "he might lie but it's still worth a shot"
"Are you going home?" Kie asked
"Yeah tomorrow morning probably" JJ said and noticed Kies worried face "he's not gonna do anything trust me"
Kie smiled reluctantly
"I guess" she sighed "just be safe, okay"
"I'll be fiine" he smiled "you don't have to worry about that right now"
The next morning, he got ready to go talk to his dad. Kie woke up beside him and tried to convince him to let her go with.
He didn't want her to because he knew it would be risky, but he eventually caved.
They got In the Twinkie and drove to his house.
It had been a while since he'd been back here. The house was looking worse than ever. It was flooded with empty beer Bottles and trash.
They went inside and his dad was still passed out on the couch.
"Surprise surprise" JJ scoffed.
"Should we come back later?" Kie asked
"Nah" he said, kicking the couch with his foot a couple times to make him wake up
Luke eventually started opening his eyes.
"Oh" he groaned tiredly "looks who's back"
"Dad, get decent. I wanna talk" JJ said
He left as his dad woke up and him and Kie went to his room
He grabbed a couple things he had forgotten last time he left, and put them in his backpack
"You ok?" Kie asked as he started for the door again
"Let's just get this over with" he responded and they went back out into the living room.
His dad was now sitting up on the couch and awake.
He reached for a beer can that was on the coffee table in front of him.
