The next morning before school, Kie woke up early, feeling nauseous. She left JJ in bed and ran to the bathroom.
Her getting up made him wake up and notice she was gone. He heard her in the bathroom and got up to go help her.
He opened the door and quickly fell to his knees next to her and pulled her hair back as she threw up.
"You ok?" He asked once she was done.
"I'm so ready for this part to be over" Kie said, sitting up and then leaning on the bathtub.
JJ sat next to her and put his arm around her as she leaned her head on his chest.
"Don't worry" JJ joked "just 9 more months"
"Don't remind me" Kie laughed a little
"You going to school today?" He asked, tiredly
"Mhm" Kie yawned "I have to"
"You know your gonna have to talk to your parents today" JJ reminded her.
"I can't wait" Kie said sarcastically
"And You're not telling them yet, right?" JJ asked
"mn nm" she shook her head no.
"Okay" he said, resting his head "just tell me when you're ready"
"ok" Kie said, closing her eyes.
Without even meaning to, they both fell asleep, sitting there on the bathroom floor.
Another hour or so later, John b came into their room in a hurry.
"Their they are" John b shouted. "Future parents of the year, get up!"
They slowly woke up and sat up straight
"Why are y'all on the floor- it doesn't matter, get up we're about to be late" John b said, leaving.
"Oh shit- what time is it" Kie said, looking at her smart watch that wouldn't turn on. "Dead"
"It's 7 something, probably" JJ said, standing up and extending his hand to help Kie up "we need to go"
They quickly got ready and headed to school in the Twinkie.
"How are you feeling?" Sarah asked as her and Kie walked to the same class together.
"Better, I guess" Kie replied.
"Do you know when your telling your parents?" Sarah asked.
"I'm waiting as long as I possibly can" Kie said, still dreading the future conversation "I just want life to be normal for a little bit longer"
"Kie you can't wait too long" Sarah said, concerned "your gonna need to go to doctor appointments eventually. Just to make sure everything is okay"
"Shit" Kie closed her eyes "I didn't even think about that."
"The sooner you tell them, the better" Sarah said and they walked into class.
At lunch they all met up at their picnic table outside to eat.
"Change of plans, we're gonna have to tell my parents a lot sooner than we thought" Kie said once she finally saw JJ again.
"What. Why?" JJ asked, a little panicked.
"Because, we have to like- get ultrasounds and make sure everything is okay" Kie said, not too sure what they even do at the appointments.
"Shit" JJ said. "When do you wanna do it then?"
