They descended the stairs of the palace, Lizzie following Gregor as they made their way to the back door of the palace. The garden stretched out wide taking up almost all the space within the surrounding walls. There were rows and rows of plants lined up under fluorescent lights that were the source of their growth. Gregor spotted Hazard on the far end of the field.

"Come on," Gregor said to Lizzie and went up to meet Hazard. "You guys probably don't remember each other. Lizzie, Hazard, Luxa's cousin. Hazard Lizzie, my sister."

They shook hands.

"So, what are you doing here," Gregor asked.

"I help around here sometimes. That is when I'm free," Hazard said.

"What else do you do around here," Lizzie asked quietly with a bit of unsteadiness in her voice. It wasn't normal for Lizzie to be shy around new people, as of now that is.

"Nothing really," Hazard said. "Have you been told that they're trying to get Temp back. They think because he's the only thing we know for sure in the prophecy having him here would help. He might even know what the prophecy means."

"Oh that's great," Gregor said.

"Temp is the roach right? Boots' friend?" Lizzie asked.

"Yes that one," Hazard replied her.

Lizzie POV
* Lizzie will be the only one with occasional povs to show what I want her thinking*

Gregor led us down the castle stairs going deep into the back of the palace. We arrived at huge double doors that opened up into a vast field like area of land. This was officially the most green I've seen down here. We stood there surveying the garden when Gregor pulled me away.

"Come on," he said.

I followed him down to the far end of the field.

"You guys probably don't remember each other," he began as I finally caught up to him.

I found myself facing the strangest person I've seen here. He had pale skin, like everyone else. But he was also unique. He had green eyes, similar to grass on a nice summer day. His black hair sat on his head in tight curls. My stomach seemed to drop into an empty pit. What was happening.

"Lizzie, Hazard, Luxa's cousin. Hazard Lizzie, my sister."

He held out his hand with a warm smile and I returned the gesture.

Gregor and Hazard chatted the rest of the time till dinner while I helped them, occasionally finding my self glancing at Hazard.

Don't get ahead of yourself. I told myself. You haven't felt like this for anyone before and you have no reason to.
