Hazard's POV

Howard and I had successfully steered the boats away from the attack with minimal damage. Some of the others were sent to lower decks to keep them away from the pus and to try and get some sleep.

I was finally let off the job of steering by the time it was all cleaned up.

"You should get some sleep kid," Ripred said to me. "Good job today."

I went down to the lower deck where the food was being stored and the others were sent, hoping Lizzie was still awake. Most of the room was filled with supplies with a small clear area open in the far corner.

I crept towards it quietly, in effort to not disturb anyone that may have been there. As I got closer a dim light was turned towards me, causing me to shield my eyes and back up.

"Who is that?" I heard Lizzie's voice say.

"It's me," I answered coming closer to sit next to her.

"Oh," she stared at me for a second. "Sorry about..." she gestured to where I was just standing. "That."

I put an arm around her as she let her head lay on my shoulder. "It's alright."

We sat in silence for a while. It was evident she was tired. We both were. She let out a low hum in my ear. "Good night, Hazard."

"Good night, Lizzie."

Lizzie's POV

Everyone slept in this morning after last night's incident. And so did Hazard and I.

I woke up from my deep sleep in his arms. The sound of his snores flooding into my ears. I looked up at his sleeping face. He looked relaxed. Younger. Like he had no worries in the world right now.

I picked up my phone that was sitting in my lap and took a selfie of myself with the sleeping Hazard.  I smiled at the picture as I looked over it. That would make sure I would never forget him. No matter how hard I tried to.

I was bored now but I didn't want to get up. I sat there, playing games on my phone as I waited for Hazard to get up.

"What are you doing?" I heard him say into my ear.

He was awake. I didn't know when he'd woken up and he didn't sound the slightest bit tired either.

"Waiting for you to wake up," I told him as I put my phone away.

He took his arm off from around my waist and stretched. "Last night was very... eventful."

"Yea. I can't believe you're guys still go out here when you know something like that could just be looming around."

"Well, we didn't. Another advantage we gain from this trip is being able to chart some dangers that we aren't aware exist in the Uncharted Lands," Hazard explained to me. He pulled out a flashlight and shone it ahead of us.

"Why don't we just sleep down here?" I asked him. "Everyone I mean. What's the point of sleeping on the deck when there's a whole room down here?"

"If the lower decks were to be made sleeping quarters, all the boats in Regalia would have to be redesigned," he began. "I think it would weigh the ships down too much was well, having a lot of people down here."

I thought about it for a bit. "Makes sense I guess."

"Are the boats in the Overland like that?" he asked me.

"The boats up there are way more complicated and advanced than these ones."

"Oh? How so?"

"Well, most of them are ran electronically or by gas up there," I said. That was the only thing I could tell him that I'd be sure about. I knew nothing about boats whatsoever.

He registered what I said for a bit before standing up. "We should get back up to the main deck. They may have already finished with breakfast.

He held out his hand for me. I took it and he pulled me to my feet. I didn't let go of his hand after I stood up. He didn't either. Our gazes locked. His eyes never strayed from mine.

I found myself being drawn closer to him, so his arms wrapped around my body. He lifted one of his hands to cradle my check, slowly drawing my face towards his.

Our lips connected. His felt gentle against mine. Soft. His fingers gently enclosed around my waist as he pulled away. The gaze Hazard gave me afterwards made me want to melt.

All I could manage to stutter out was: "I-I think we should get going now-"

Just as the words left my mouth, I heard Gregor's voice ring out loudly behind me. "Are you guys ever gonna come up for breakfast or what?"
