Lizzie POV

We had just gotten dismissed from this meeting about our quest. I was meaning to ask Gregor what Vikus had meant by 'get ready' but he stayed behind. I guess he noticed I was eager to talk to him.

"I have to stay for something else Liz. You know, being king means a busy schedule. I'll talk to you tonight alright?" Gregor said.

"Yea sure."

I stepped out of the room. Not knowing where to go, I decided to go take a walk around the palace. Well that was before being approached by Hazard who was just leaving the room. By the look on his face, he did not want to talk to me.

"I wanted to say sorry for yelling at you for no reason. And that I didn't mean anything I said," he said in choppy words obviously forced. "Are you happy now?" Hazard yelled out loud going back into the war room. I sat against the wall, forgetting my thought of talking a walk.

That didn't work out for him because less than 20 seconds later he was being pushed out by Luxa. "Get out! I don't care where you go."

Here we were again. Just the two of us. "We always and up together don't we?" I said even with the knowledge that Hazard didn't want to talk to me.

"I guess we do," Hazard said. He paused for a moment. "I really am sorry for what I did. I get you were trying to help and I would be dead if you didn't. So thank you."

I sat silent for a while thinking of what to say. "But why did you yell at me. I mean I'm sure there was a reason," I said.

"I was just scared," Hazard said waving away the question.

I racked my brain, thinking of a way to start up a conversation. "What did Vikus mean when he said we should get ready?" I asked.

"Get everything you think you need. First aids, torches," he paused. "Come. I'll show you where your brother usually goes," he said, standing up and taking my hand.

He led me through the busy hallways of the palace never letting go of my hand until we reached familiar hallway. He took me into the very room I had been in with Gregor just 2 days ago.

"This is our Overland museum. It's-," Hazard was saying but stopped as I went to get the night vision binoculars I was looking at. "Have you been here before?"

"Yea. I'm pretty sure this room is familiar to my crying as well," I said blatantly.

Knowing the last part was targeted for him, Hazard ignores it. "You can take whatever you think is helpful. Gregor usually took a backpack, torch, duct tape and water."

I grabbed a black bag, two torches and a full roll of duct tape. I shoved the binoculars in the bag as well. "What do you wanna do now?" I asked Hazard.

"I don't have anything to do," he said. He sat down leaning against a shelf. "How about we just tell each other more about ourselves."

"There's really nothing much to me. But there is something I've been wondering," I began. "Last time I asked you didn't want to tell me but why can't you be a warrior?" I asked sitting close beside him. I could feel his surprisingly soothing warmth radiating off him. My long hair brushing against his ear.

At first he seemed hesitant but finally gave in. "It was my father. I'm sure you know he ran away to the jungle and it was because of his mother, Solovet. She controlled the army and tried controlling him. He went mad, ran away, met my mother until Gregor came to the jungle to fulfil the prophecy. His last promise to Luxa was that I never became a warrior." Hazard let out a sigh that he seemed to be holding back during the whole story.

"What happened to your mother?" I asked after a while of silence.

"She saw the same mark of secret you did. It means death but I lied about it. Last time we saw it someone on our quest died. It's saying someone's gonna die this time but that was expected," I turned to look at Hazard. A string of sadness was tied to his face.

"And who saw it first?" I asked, hoping for the best.

"Thalia."
