The clouds have all gathered together, to form a seemingly dreary day. All the signs point to a storm dawning on us soon enough. The smell of rain has already begun to flow through the air. I quite like the smell, days like these are needed every once and awhile. For me, it helps settle my soul. A few days ago I had sent Aether a letter to join me at Mondstadt's tavern. Although I never received a reply from him. He doesn't usually skip the opportunity to meet with me. Most of the time we meet unexpectedly so, I think this letter will surely surprise him. He should be arriving any minute now. I do hope he's wearing something to keep him warm. It wouldn't be good for him to catch a cold. The change of seasons leads to colder weather and sickness. A few moments later, I heard something come from the left. It was Aether, as I suspected he's not wearing anything to keep him warm.
"Hey Dain. I'm sorry I've kept you waiting." Aether said as he approached me,
"No worries, I don't mind. Are you ready to go?" I asked,
"Yes, I do need to stop by the Adventurer's Guild before we go to the tavern. Is that ok?"
"Of course, I'm in no rush." We started on our way towards the city of Mondstadt, which is not much of a walk from the Whispering Woods.
"What have you been up to lately?" Aether asked,
"I've been trying to gain more leads with the Abyss Order. I haven't been successful as of late. I was hoping to go to the tavern to see if there's any information among the people." I explained,
"Typical Dain, ha-ha." He laughed, "The tavern is a fantastic way to gain information. You're not wrong there but why'd you decide to bring me along?"
"I wanted to ask you if you'd encountered anything. I also figured it wouldn't hurt to catch up with you either."
"That's interesting. I didn't take you as the type of person Dain." He looked over at me from the side, I made eye contact with him for a second. Then quickly looked away and cleared my throat,
"Ahem, just cause I'm not the type to do something. Doesn't mean it'll never happen." I said keeping my composure, then all the sudden I heard thunder. I looked up at the sky, "Seems like a storm's about to come through." I looked over at Aether, "why aren't you wearing something warmer, aren't you cold?" I asked him, Aether looked down at himself.
"Guess I didn't really notice. This is all I usually wear when adventuring. Plus, when all you're doing is fighting you don't really notice the cold." He explained, how can you not even notice? I scoffed, "why are you miffed about it?"
"It's just that I'd assume you'd be cold. It's not good to be out in the cold without something to keep you warm. Wouldn't want you to catch a cold."
"Ah, I suppose..." Just then it started raining,
"As if on cue..." I glared at Aether trying to emphasize the cold, he just looked away sheepishly,
"Well, the city's just up ahead." Aether said to break the tension, the rain quickly began to increase to where it started pouring,
"Yes. Let's go." I said as I started to run, hoping Aether would catch up. Once I made it to the gate I looked behind me and Aether wasn't far behind.
"I'll go claim my commission reward." Aether said and I nodded in response, I stood under the gate to keep dry. Which wasn't much use considering I was already dripping wet. A few moments later Aether came running over to me.
