All I could feel was the warmth of his body against mine. It didn't seem to have taken him long to fall back asleep. Hopefully with him laying against me like this; he won't have another episode. I can't even begin to explain the panic that flew through me during it. I've heard of night terrors before but I have never seen someone experiencing them. It's...terrifying. As I was lost in thought, I felt Dainsleif stir in his sleep and I immediately grabbed hold of him. A few seconds passed by and he was still. I slowly let go of him, I thought he was going to have another episode. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes.  I grabbed his hand in mine, hoping to provide him with even a little bit more comfort.

"If only you could know how much I care for you." I opened my eyes and looked down at him, my eyes, full of love and affection. "I wish we were able to tell each other how we truly feel. There's no doubt that you also feel something special for me. Between our stubborn nature and lack of experience in that area. It makes it difficult. But, oh, how I want to tell you. It's how I want to pull you close to me just because. How I want to kiss you deeply and share these intimate moments that only lovers can share." I let go of his hand and began to stroke his hair, "Dainsleif, I—" I stopped myself and shook my head, "No, even though I'm not directly talking to you. If I'm going to have any sort of confession. I want it to be genuine. Both of us there, and alone." I continued to stroke his hair and I carefully moved my body down, attempting to get more comfortable. I heard him groan softly and stir in his sleep,

"Diluc?" He asked tiredly, "Is something the matter?"

"No, it's nothing. I was only trying to get more comfortable." I explained, "I didn't mean to wake you."

"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't think I would fall asleep. Here." He sat up and moved away allowing me to get comfortable. I took my coat and boots off and laid down in the bed, pulling the blankets over me. He moved back over to me and he slid under the covers and laid his head on my chest. I left my arm under him, allowing for him to lay on it as well. "Is that better?" He asked, I smiled,

"Yes, thank you."

"Diluc?" He asked,

"Yes?"

"What are we?" My heart started racing at his question, I thought deeply about what to say. "From my experience these aren't quite the things friends do together. I am just confused."

"And you have every right to be." I paused, "It's true that these aren't the things that friends do with one another. But at the same time, friends are always there for one another—"

"No, I-I understand that. You're just trying to comfort me. But, what about everything else? I'm sure you've noticed this tension between us. So, what is it?" He asked,

"Ah. Yes, I know what you're saying. I've...been thinking about that as well. The truth is, that I have noticed this tension between us. And I think I know what it may be but, I'm still not quite sure." I explained hesitantly, "I think for now. Let's just stay in this moment. We don't have to label it."

"I like that." I feel him nuzzle into my chest and grab my hand. My heart skips a beat and I rest my head against his and close my eyes.

"Have you heard they may be reopening the Chasm to the public in Liyue?" Lyudmila asked,

"How interesting. I wonder what kind of chaos it will bring. Do you think I should pass on that information to the higher-ups?" I asked,

"No, I doubt they'll want to hear about such trivial events. Let's wait it out first." A moment of silence pasted between us. I don't know how long it's been since we were assigned to this position.

"Winter is just around the corner, huh?" I asked trying to break the silence,

"Yea, it's only a couple weeks before the end of November."

"Winter always brings some sort of calamity."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Lyudmila asked,

"I'm just hoping that something will happen. I'm bored." She rolled her eyes, I looked away from her and noticed that a wagon was approaching.

"Come on! Hurry up, we need to deliver these to the Cathedral." A man said as he led the driver, I kept my eye on them as they passed by.

"I'm going to follow them." I stated,

"Why? It looks like they're just transporting supplies. Are you that bored?" Lyudmila asked,

"Maybe I am. But I have this itching feeling about it. Plus, how long has it been since we were assigned this position? It's really beginning to irritate me."

"Whatever, knock yourself out. I'll be here." I nodded and then made my way up the nearby steps. Since they had a wagon, most of the boxes they had were to be manually carried all the way up. They said they were headed to the Cathedral. Obviously I didn't want to be seen so I took the opposite stairway from the one they were going up. Once I made it up to the statue of the Anemo Archon. I waited by the top of the staircase just barely out of sight. A few men came by carrying boxes then taking them to the top of the staircase that led to the entrance of the Cathedral. Once one of the men came back to grab another box, a lady came running up to one of them.

"Excuse me!" The lady shouted as she ran, the man who was just about to go down the stairs stopped and turned around.

"What is it?" he asked,

"What are you guys doing? Is there an event coming up?" She asked, ah just the information I'm looking for.

"Oh, it's a private event hosted by the Dawn Winery. So its not for the general public I'm afraid." He explained, a private event?

"Oh I see, what's it called?" she asked,

"I believe they've been calling it 'The Winter Solstice Ball'." The man explained,

"Oh how wonderful! It's unfortunate it's not open to the general public but it sounds like a nice event for the Dawn Winery to host regardless." She said sincerely,

"Yea, I agree. I think Master Diluc is donating money with this event as well. But I don't know for sure."

"Oh, that's nice of him! He's always so considerate."

"Yea since he came back from his travels a couple years ago, he's changed in many different ways. Ah, but I suppose I've said too much, I better head off. We have much to do." He said as he turned around and went down the stairs,

"Oh, well, thank you!" She said and left shortly. I think one of the Harbingers would be delighted about this. I left the area the same way I came.

"Why are you so giddy?" Lyudmila asked as I approached her,

"Oh, it's just that. I may have found The Doctor's next vantage point."
