I was awoken to the rays of sunlight that had leaked into the room. As peaceful as the room was, the only thing I could focus on was my arm. It felt like it was being stabbed, pulled, and twisted all at the same time. Though, it is painful, it's not something I'm not used to feeling. I tried to keep my arm relatively still. I had barely noticed that my other arm, my left arm, hurt as well. It didn't hurt nearly as much as my right arm. I still felt somewhat exhausted. There's no way I could fall back asleep now. Even though I was still exhausted, I couldn't fall back asleep. I looked around the room and noticed that Diluc was fast asleep with his arms and head rested on the bedside. Why didn't you just go sleep in your bed if you were that exhausted? I watched him for a while, focusing mostly on his gorgeous red hair. His head was rested in his arms and his hair had fallen over his face. His hair was loosely tied up in a low ponytail, the same style he is usually seen wearing. But this time to keep it in place, was a black and white bow. I had never realized how long and thick his hair was till now. It covered most of his back while some fell over his shoulder and around his waist. I noticed that the outfit he was wearing was not one that he commonly wore. It was a white dress shirt with a white vest that has gold embroidered around the edges. It was beautiful, as are most of his outfits. The room was so quiet that you could hear the sound of his slow hushed breaths. He seemed like he was in a deep sleep. I slowly moved my hand closer to his face and brushed the hair that had fallen in his face and tucked it behind his ear. I couldn't resist the urge to touch the rest of his hair. The one piece that I had moved out of the way, was soft to the touch. I began gently running my fingers through the small strands that framed his face. Maybe...we could just stay like this forever. What am I thinking though? Of course, we cannot, I cannot. You have your life to live, and I have my endless war to fight. You'll die one day, and I will just continue to walk this world alone. It is best for me not to get attached but you keep making it so difficult for me. I continued to play with his hair, till he stirred in his sleep, and I quickly removed my hand from his hair then dropped it by my side. Much to my surprise, he moved closer and moved his head against my thigh. He then slowly searched for my hand and once he had grabbed it. He put it under his head for it to rest on. He brushed his hair away that had fallen back into his face. I couldn't tell if he was still asleep or had woken up slightly. Either way, I didn't move and kept my hand there for him to rest on. His face was very warm, I had hoped that my hand wasn't cold enough to cause discomfort for him. My face was heating as I was flustered by his actions; I was nervous about what he was going to do. But I also could not deny the fact that I was enjoying this. I never did consider myself as the kind of person to be attracted to men. But with how things have been going with Diluc and the thoughts I've been having about him. The more the reality of the situation is proving true. What was the deal with last night? We got so close to each other, I almost thought that we were going to, that he was going to...kiss me? My heartbeat quickened at the thought. I felt Diluc move again which brought me out of my thoughts. Suddenly there was a knock at the door,

"Dainsleif, is Master Diluc in there with you? I couldn't find him in his bedroom." The voice belonged to Adelinde, I pretended to be asleep. I figured if I were to yell back it would wake Diluc. "May I come in?" I still gave her no answer. The doorknob began to twist and Adelinde walked into the room. "Pardon the intrusion." She paused, Diluc shot up from the bed and was half awake. "Oh Master Diluc, you are in here." I slowly opened my eyes, acting as if I had just woken up. "Master Diluc, are you awake?"

"Yes. What is it?" He said in a hoarse voice.

"I'm sorry to tell you but, Master Kaeya is waiting down in the lobby. He wanted to invite you out for a while. I told him that you had been feeling better and he thought it would be nice to take a walk with you." Adelinde explained,

"Of course, but I'm afraid I'm not feeling well. Last night was...rough." Diluc tried to straighten out his posture, but he winced in pain and grabbed at his back.

"Yes, I'll tell Master Kaeya that you aren't feeling up to it today and would love to join him another time." Adelinde was about to turn around when the man named 'Kaeya' was standing right behind her.

"There's no need. I heard everything and I can see that Diluc is quite comfortable." Kaeya said,

"Ah, well, I'll leave you three to your conversation. I'll be downstairs if any of you need anything." Adelinde finished and walked out the door.

"Kaeya, why are you here again?" Diluc questioned,

"Can't a brother see his brother when he's been so very hurt. He needs the company. Then again, you seem to have all the company you need right there." Kaeya said arrogantly and pointed at the both of us. "And now both of you are injured? How interesting." Kaeya started walking over to Diluc,

"Kaeya, it's not like that. Dainsleif ran into some trouble last night and me and Adelinde helped patch him up. Nothing more nothing less." Diluc said,

"Maybe I'd believe you if you hadn't been sleeping in here all night. Don't think I can't tell dear brother. The way you keep grabbing at your back and your tired voice and tired eyes. Disheveled hair. It's obvious but sweet." I could tell that Diluc was starting to get flustered,

"I asked Diluc to stay in here with me all night. He didn't do it just because he wanted to." I spoke up for Diluc.

"Oh, I was getting worried you would never talk."

"There was nothing for me to say. Plus, I was speaking up for Diluc, explaining the situation."

"Aren't you so nice."

"Kaeya, if you said you 'heard everything,' then you'll know that I'm not feeling up to your antics. Neither am I feeling well enough to 'join you for a walk'." Diluc remarked,

"Yes I did hear you, but I chose not to listen. So, how about it Diluc? A fine walk around father's manor would be so nice, don't you think? Besides, don't you think you should give Dainsleif space? If you've been here all night."

"Fine. If it'll get you out of here. Just give me a few minutes." Diluc stood up and walked out of the room. We both watched Diluc leave the room,

"So, what happened to you?" Kaeya said as he sat down in the chair Diluc had been in,

"Commission. It was a little tougher than I expected."

"Ah, well, rookie mistake. It happens to the best of us."

"Yes. If I hadn't made it back here in time, I don't know where I could've ended up." I said truthfully,

"Ah, you both are the same. Getting yourselves into trouble and near-death situations."

"How has Diluc been? I don't think he'll tell me the full truth."

"From what I know, he's been walking with only one crutch. Though, I don't think he left with one just now. His leg still is bandaged but his arm is doing better." Kaeya nodded his head,

"That's good to hear." Kaeya said,

"Let's go." Diluc said from the doorway,

"Alright, alright, I'm coming. Till next time Dainsleif." Kaeya said as he got up and walked towards Diluc. Diluc let Kaeya go in front.

"I'll be back, sorry about my brother, again." Diluc said,

"It's alright, have fun." I said and Diluc walked away with Kaeya. Shortly after Diluc left I decided to stand and walk around a bit. Since he seems to think the problem is my legs, if I did it now, he wouldn't parent me around. I went over to watch out the window for a bit before going downstairs to get something to eat. When I looked outside it looked like it was about mid-day. I think that's the most sleep I've gotten for a while. It will most likely be awhile before I'm healed. I already knew that my right arm would take much longer to heal than my normal arm. Which would also make Diluc more curious, hopefully he won't try to hold me back longer because of that. My right arm always hurts in any situation so it's no use whatever you do.
