JUNGKOOK POV

Hobi had finally come out of hiding and we were all meeting at the Diner to celebrate.

It was wonderful to have our whole group together again.

There was a moment of awkwardness when hobi came
in and saw Axel there with us.

Jimin stood up and hovered awkwardly outside the booth.

Hobi had hugged each of the
rest of us but he just stood in front of Jimin, waiting and
Jimin did the same, hands in
his pockets.

I watched carefully as these
two men I cared a lot about approached each other slowly, cautiously.

"I know you might not want to see me." Jimin said, his voice
so meek it shocked me.

"but I came anyway, I figured
we could rip this Band-Aid off and have a nice time after."

I watched hobi carefully,
hoping he'd forgive Jimin.

I didn't know what I'd do if
my alpha and one of my good friends were fighting.

Jin and I exchanged a
glance, I could tell he had
the same type of worry.

"I'll forgive you one day,
maybe." hobi said with a laugh.

Jimin relaxed, as did the rest of us, We turned to head to our usual table but Jimin stopped Hobi one more time.

What now? If he kept pushing, he'd only make it worse.

"I'm only gonna apologize
once."

"I'm sorry for my part in it
but I gotta say, I was legally bound to keep a lot of that information from you."

"Technically, telling you what
I did was breaking the law."

"I could have your badge?"

Hobi joked, at least I hoped
he was joking.

If he went after Jimin, my
split loyalty would unsplit very quickly.

I hadn't realized that Jimin
had been legally bound to
keep the information private.

He'd never mentioned that
when he talked to hobi or me about what had happened.

I'd missed something while I
was thinking because suddenly we were all sitting down and Jimin and hobi were smiling
at each other again.

We laughed and talked while
we waited for our food.

At one point Jimin excused himself to take a work call and we watched him out the diner window as he paced back and forth, his broad shoulders straightening into what I now recognized to be his detective stance.

It was hot and I got distracted watching him, until Jin's laughter brought me back to the table.

As I'd suspected, he was laughing at me.

"So." Jin started and I
breathed deeply.

I'd known this was coming,
of course they were going to hound me about Jimin now
that we were finally together.

"You two?"

"My lips are sealed." I said, grinning.

My friends whooped anyways.

Apparently my grin was enough.

I'm sure it actually wasn't anywhere near enough.

Not enough joy.

Not enough heat.

Not enough... love.

"At least tell me this." Jin said, apparently realizing I wasn't going to spill the beans on
this one.
