"Hey Sam?" Vikram called out after finishing his late dinner.
I was sitting in my room sorting out a few old pictures of my childhood with my mumma when Vikram had called me.
"I'm upstairs. What happened?"
Vikram forced me to stay with him in his house. I did have my own room and I liked being with him but somewhere, in the back of my head, I thought it would have been better for us to progress with our relationship if we had some space. He sold mumma's house and donated the extra money to mumma's favourite charity. I was going to indeed miss the house since it had every memory of mumma and me in it but donating to mumma's favourite children's charity felt amazing. I knew mumma would have been very proud of our mutual decision over the house.
It was been two weeks since I told Vikram that I love him.
For the most part, our relationship has been so much stronger. Vikram and I seem to understand each other a lot more. His comfort and understanding has kept me in better health. I haven't had any anxiety attacks or any symptoms and I've learned to deal with myself in a much more positive and healthy manner.
Vikram had been urging me to meeting his family for a few days now and I've been very hesitated to do so. It was a big step in our relationship and I wasn't sure if I was could hold myself up for that. Vikram had met my mumma as a good friend of mine. Nothing was going on with us at that time. Although mumma's mind had something else in mind. Vik was sure of our relationship and wanted to me as his girlfriend. I would love to visit his family and become a presence of that part of his life. Yet something was holding me back.
We had been out almost every day this week. We were basically acting like teenagers who finally got time to spend with each other. We went out on dates to the see a movie, have dinner out, long walks around the pier or a lake. The days we didn't feel like going out, we would spend a nice romantic evening indoors to have a home cooked meal or just fool around.
I carefully picked up a picture frame and adjusted a picture of Vikram and I from the lake last weekend. I was wearing a white sun dress in the picture while Vikram had a white half-sleeve button up with light blue shorts on. The weather gotten really nice over the last few days.
"Where upstairs?" Vikram yelled.
"In our room."
I got up with the frame in my hand and walked towards the night table on Vikram's side of the bed. The right side was the side that Vikram usually slept on. I cleaned off the table for any dust particles and gently placed the frame on the table.
Two warm arms snaked around my waist as I adjusted the frame.
"Hey!" I whispered.
"Hey baby!" Vikram whispered in my ear.
He held me tight and pressed my back close to his chest.
"Look at the picture."
He looked down at the table to see our picture.
"We need more all around the house now to complete our home." He said as he gently nibbled on my earlobe. I brought my arms around to hold his.
"Umm, let me clean up the pictures mess so we can head off for bed. I have to talk to you anyways."
"Alright and I also have to talk to you. Hurry up and I'll go get changed main while."
I placed all the picture of my childhood and Vikram's childhood in a folder and placed it on the desk in the room. I figured I'll spend some time with Vikram now and finish this work some other time. I also got out my shorts and tank top and changed before heading off to bed.
