I got out of the car and walked to the trunk to grab my luggage. Vik was pulling out the bags.
I looked over at him. He flashed a warm smile at me. His eyes had a soft yet trustworthy sparkle. I couldn't helped but smile.
Maybe it was time for me to finally allow someone in my life. Maybe it was time to find someone.
He shut the trunk and turned to me. He looked around for a butler. There was one dressed in Indian attire. He took our luggage inside the venue.
We followed him inside. The venue was a private hotel rented out for the wedding week. It was a great Indian event. So much to my hatred. And as much as I understand my best friend, to her hatred too.
I recognized some relatives and some friends. I definitely noticed one of Nav's slut cousins. Dress in, of course, a slut dress and had her face caked with makeup. Her eyes were stuck on Vik.
"Hey. I hope you remember you came as my date." I grabbed his arm and smiled. "And my date only."
His arm went over my head, down to my waist. "I know. Only you're date." He kissed the side of my head. I was started to like the feeling of calling someone my own.
"The atmosphere is perfect. The mood is perfect. There's also a reason to spread happiness. Maybe we should ditch the events and have our date here instead. Where would you like to go?" Vik looked at me with the most adorable eyes.
"Ummmm....If she leaves, you're getting a one way ticket to bride's hell. She's not going anywhere."
"Nav!"
"Samaira come here. I missed our coffee breaks so much. I hate all the crap. It looks like a glittery, colorful, festive animal throw up everywhere. Save me."
"Hey Nav. Congratulations to you and the lucky guy."
"Thank you so much Vik. And thank you so much for making it to the wedding. We need more young people here to party with. You can be checked into any room and Samaira will be checking into my room. Have fun, relax, shower, roam around, do whatever. But, there's a cocktail party at 8pm so do not be late."
"Yes I'll be there on time. Sam, I'll see you later. Keep your phone on you."
"Yup. Have fun." Vik went to check into his room and I took my luggage into Nav's suite.
Once I was settled into our room, I looked over to where Nav was standing. I went over to her and gave her one of my tackle hugs, making us both fall of the bed.
"I can't believe this is happening. I'm actually doing this." Her eyes were watering up as she read my mind.
"I am. And I couldn't be any happier. Nav, this is your dream, that's finally coming true. I just don't want to share my best friend." I mentioned, pulling a sad face with puppy eyes.
"Oh Khay. I have dealt with lots of tears and emotions today. No more till I get married. Please."
"Just don't go bridezilla please. Oh, my mom won't be able to make it because of her medical treatment but she did send a little gift for you."
"Aww but she really didn't need to get me anything."
I walked over to my bag and pulled out a little golden jewelry pouch. I also pulled out my gift for her. My gift was wrapped up in a box with a little pink ribbon of it.
"Here's mumma's gift." And she proceeded to open the gift.
"Oh My God. Are these...the same ones? I love these. I need to call your mom. I can't believe she gave me her anklets. I've had an eye on them since we were little. Seriously I need to call her now." She got up with her phone in her hand to call my mom.
