Chapter 37

In the familiar dark and eerie castle of the vampires, there sits in the middle of the huge ball room under the single light bulb, was the poor necromancer.

Kai's hands were tied in a chair on his back, and his calves wrapped in chains, securing him in his place. His face was beaten up, blood, scratches and wounds are visible in every inch of his skin. He wasn't moving, but he was still very much alive and awake. He just no longer have any strength to try escaping this place, away from his enemies.

There's only one thing in his mind.

And that is to get out of here alive and come back to his sister.

His ears then caught heels clicking, heavy footsteps coming near him. He lifts his head up and tries to see where it's coming from.

From his left, he sees a figure in the dark wearing dark blue tuxedo. He knew exactly who this is.

The one and only king.

Taemin clicks his tongue loudly, "Hmm, look at you, want to hear an advice?" he says and steps into the light, giving the dhampir the full view of his face wearing a smirk, "If I were you, I would tell me where my cousin is hiding right now because I have no more time to play this game and I wanna go home to my shitty home." his smile disappeared and swiftly grabbed a handful of the dhampir's hair.

Kai grunts, "You'd have to kill me,"

The vampire gave him a venomous stare, "No, no, don't ever say that to me again..." he leans in, "Because I would gladly do it,"

"Jennie...is safe somewhere and she will get back at you and get what you took from her,"

Taemin clenched his jaw and gripped Kai's neck with his hand, "She!!! took this...from me, I was to be king and she stole it from me!" his nails dig into his skin, "Nothing was hers, nothing has been because everything, is mine."

Kai sneaks a chuckle, "You don't deserve to be king," he grunts, feeling his throat tightening, "You...You're n-not even a p-pureblood,"

The vampire lets him go and he stared at him, watching him cough trying to get his breathing back, "And Jennie does? That bitch who thinks she owns people? No, she is not a queen. Never was, never will." he says with bitterness, "I'm the only remaining vampire with a blood of royalty, Jennie is no longer here, there are no purebloods left."

Kai breathes heavily and snickers, he gave Taemin a questionable stare, "I wouldn't talk like that if I were you," he says, "It's for your own safety,"

"What do you mean?"

"There are...purebloods in this world more than you think, my king,"

The two dhampirs look at the vampire in front of them, who is currently picking on her nails and looking very guilty. Jisoo holds a knife in her hand and stabs the table, making not only Lisa flinch but also Seulgi who's sitting next to her.

Lisa clears her throat and stands up from her seat, "Okay, let's...calm d-"

"Sit down," Jisoo cuts her off.

The vampire shuts herself up and slowly goes back to her seat in silence. She doesn't even know why she's scared of the latter, when she's currently the strongest one in the room.

Jisoo crosses her arms, "I can't believe you fooled us like this," she mutters, "Imagine if Kai wasn't abducted, will you keep hiding your true self from us?"

Lisa sighs, "I hated it, okay? Hiding everything especially from you two," she replies and shakes her head, "I've known you both for the long time, I trust you with all my heart. Do you think this was easy for me? I struggled, I looked for ways to try to tell everything to you but I always step back, because it would cause too much trouble and others may get involved. I don't want that..."
