Chapter 28

Things have been rough ever since Lisa and the vampires came to the mansion, everything keeps getting worse and they're still stuck in the same cycle each day that passes. They were unable to move to another step of their plan as they keep getting ambushed or confronted by these hunters that have their eyes on them since day one.

And Kai's abduction added to their main problems, they were not expecting that bold move from whoever took him. The dhampirs are sure that they will take advantage of his magic and use it against them soon.

Jumyeon noticed how the dhampirs panic, affected with the young necromancer's disappearance. Jisoo has been out looking for any traces of him, Seulgi and Jungkook went to search for him in the land.

While Lisa...

She has been silent after receiving that news yesterday, she was the most affected among all of them. He also noticed that she suddenly looks uneasy and becomes a bit jumpy around her.

There was something wrong.

He can't just exactly point it out.

The night was getting deeper and Jumyeon finds himself struggling to fall asleep, wondering where Kai could be right now. He knows how clumsy that boy is, if it wasn't because of his magic, he would just be a normal dhampir, a human who ages slower than one.

He left his bed and sits on his study table, he faces his typewriter and types whatever was on his mind. Each keys clacking after another. He treats this as his comfort hobby, when he's too preoccupied about something, he types. When he finds something interesting, he types.

It was like his diary but in different sheets and written with a machine.

Jumyeon sighs as he covered the whole paper with everything on his mind. He stares at it before he opens a drawer and stacked it along with the other papers that's been sitting there for a long time, just waiting to get more.

He removes his eye patch and decided to force himself to sleep when he felt a presence passed just outside his room. He checked the time, 3:08 in the morning, it's too early for anyone to be awake and too late to stay up. The vampires aren't even allowed to leave their own rooms at midnights for their own safety.

The dhampir knows it's not one of the vampires, so it must be just them. After debating with himself, he opens his door and carefully checks on that person. He followed where the footsteps went and realized they were heading to the kitchen.

Someone must have gotten hungry.

He tried his best to not make any sound and checks the kitchen. Well, he was right, somebody was hungry as the light of the refrigerator was lit open and he could see a shadow before it.

Peeking, his eyes caught a figure on the floor, who seems to be rummaging and terrorizing everything inside the fridge. When he peeked a little more, he couldn't believe what he just saw.

The last person she expects to be there.

Lisa.

She was opening everything and consume them like a hungry beast in the forest. He knows it wasn't normal for her to behave like that which made him wonder what was going on.

He watched her more.

Until...he sees her gag and runs to the sink, he listened to her throwing up everything she ate and was followed by a sound of hitting the table and heard her yell.

"Fuck!"

Jumyeon swallows and carefully leaves the scene before she completely sees him. He closes his door behind him and lays on his bed.
