Chapter 39

The hunters positioned themselves and obliged, Hyunjin goes towards the vampires, Soyeon to the dhampirs and Rowoon at Lisa. Things have started in a blink of an eye and they're going after each other's throats all of a sudden. It was a quick transition but that didn't bother the dhampirs and vampires as they take fast defense to save themselves against these vicious and dangerous hunters, who only lived to kill them.

Rowoon swings his scythe towards Lisa but she easily dodged, the vampire glanced at Jennie and nod at each other, sending signals. The succubus attempted to rush at him but she stopped when her wrists were binded with silver chains, that burns her skin.

Jennie turns and sees Taemin grinning from ear to ear, she glared at the vampires who were holding the chains tightly, making sure she won't be able to escape.

Great.

The other pureblood returns her attention to Rowoon, who is still focused on trying to put a single scratch on her face, "It's been a while," she mutters, "For years we've known each other, I can't believe you're just pretending to like me,"

He gripped his weapon, "I didn't pretend, I really never liked you," he says and scoffs, "Guess my guts are right about that."

She nodded, "Well, I don't really care much whether you like me or not," she says, "I'll kill you either way,"

With a huge swing, he attacks the vampire recklessly not planning to slow down. He has been determined to kill her since day one and now, knowing she was a vampire all along, he couldn't wait any longer to bring her down to her knees and separate her head from her body.

They hear a loud panic yelp from Jay, who is being chased by Hyunjin. His nose was extremely hurting by the hunter's unknown scent, it makes him somehow weak. His speed lowers, giving Hyunjin an opportunity to tackle him down to the ground. They both let out a grunt as they fall down and Hyunjin quickly draws his tiny knives that almost resembled to shurikens and tried to swing on Jay's neck but he has pushed away from the vampire.

He looks to see Rosé glaring down at him, extremely mad. Somi then came next to Jay and checked if he was alright.

The sanguine clenched her jaw, "You both be careful, he has vervains hidden in his clothes, if you get too close with him you will feel weak." she tells them, "He's trying to come close to you on purpose, he's making you smell him."

"What's that?" Somi asked.

"A herb that was used as a secret weapon against us from years ago," she added, "He brought it back to life, this jerk ass."

Hyunjin stands up and dusts himself, he looked at Rosé with his fierce and feline-like eyes, "Don't let it stop you from attacking me, I would really love to see some action," he storms towards Rosé and they exchanged fast attacks from each other, she was holding her breath and it was making things harder for her to land some hits on him.

Making her lose her balance and she immediately transported to a safe spot away from him but then she felt a whole body pound on her. They fell on the ground and they both grunt in pain.

She looks to see Jisoo, touching her back with a pained expression on her face. "What the hell is your problem!"

The dhampir gave her a look, "Did you think I jumped on you on purpose?! I was thrown!" she pointed at a huge man, a hunter from a few feet away who kept bulldozing other dhampirs like a giant. "That oompa loompa has been giving us a hard time and that Soyeon bitch kept laughing at us, it's so fucking annoying!"

Rosé raised an eyebrow, "Atleast, get off me," she says and Jisoo realized what they look like.

Her leg was on the vampire's and her other hand was on Rosé's thigh. She quickly snatched her limbs off her and clears her throat as she stands up. She avoided to look at the vampire's eyes and runs back to where the other dhampirs are.
