Chapter 29

It's been a new day and it's the day of Jay's another training with Lisa, he geared up and stretched as a preparation to avoid getting completely wrecked again. His back does hurt still and his muscles are numb as ever, he was already starting to lose hope, telling Somi he doesn't want to train anymore but Jennie went against his decision and forced him to train again.

It's not that he doesn't want to learn, he's just scared with how strong Lisa was even in a session. He can't imagine how strong she would be in the battlefield.

Jay glanced at the clock on the wall, "It's past 8, isn't she supposed to be here by now?" he asks his cousin, who's sitting on her seat silently.

The vampire taps her foot and crossed her arms, impatiently waiting for a certain dhampir to arrive. The training starts at 7 and she's still nowhere to be found.

"Do you know where she is?"

Jennie sighs and shakes her head, "She didn't come home last night, I never seen her after we talked," she answered and looks at him.

The other vampire hums and suddenly grinned. He jumped up from his seat and faced Jennie with an excited smile on his face, "How about you train with me?" he playfully flexed his arms and taps his muscles. "I think I can fight you now,"

The brunette just watched him without saying a word then she raises her two fingers, she flicked and made Jay spin before landing on a mat face flat.

"Okay, bad idea," he mutters while groaning.

And just like in cue, the gym doors open and the person they're both waiting for has finally arrived. However, she doesn't look totally okay. She looks pretty tired and has some dirt on her shirt. Jennie wondered where she could have been, judging with how she looks, she seemed like she went through something hard.

The dhampir gives Jay an apologetic smile and walks to over to get a pair of padded gloves.

Walking past Jennie, the vampire somehow caught an intoxicating smell as she passes through. It was too sharp and strong that it makes her stomach turn. She pinched the bridge of her nose and tried to ignore that scent, as she wants to focus and watch their training session without troubles.

Is that...?

Lisa came back with a weird behavior and messed up appearance, with her not giving Jennie a single glance, she assumed she may have still mad at her for asking that question yesterday and proceeds to start training Jay.

But the vampire couldn't hold it in, the scent was giving her a headache and it was painful to endure. Without saying anything, she hurriedly ran out the gym and heads to the kitchen. She faced the sink and washes her face, waking herself up.

That scent was too familiar for her to not identify what it is but she can't understand how it came from Lisa. She has never smelled her with it before and it was weird enough for her to even put the pieces together.

There's no way...

"Hey, you alright?"

A voice asked behind her and she quickly turns, seeing Seulgi coming holding an empty bowl.

She slightly smiles and puts it on the side of the sink, "Cereals," she says and stands a few feet away from the brunette, "I wanted some rice or anything heavier than cereals but the fridge was empty, weird cause as far as I can remember, we have fully stocked-ah, what am I saying..."

The vampire wipes her face with a clean paper towel and looks at the harmless dhampir before her, "You're Seulgi, am I right?"

She nods, "Yeah, I'm surprised you know, I mean, we haven't actually had a proper introduction," she says with a light chuckle.
