I could feel the cold air blow my waist length hair away from my face as I stood in the alley waiting. I zipped my leather jacket up, pulling my gray beanie over the top of my head mashing my already wild hair back against my scalp. I checked the time.

22:34

I heard the rumble of a Harley.

"Violet."

I looked up to see my little cousin standing before me. I grinned in his direction.

"Knocker."

"Did you walk?" He said his voice laced with concern.

"No dummy my cars across the street." I laughed slightly

"Good because this run was bigger than Will fit in my little trailer. I'd need to make multiple runs, and that's a lot of back and forth to be hauling this to your parents house."

"I figured you'd say that. I thought I'd follow you." I sighed, dreading interaction with my dad, I know he loves me but he doesn't appreciate my choices.

"That would be so helpful." The wild eyed boy in front of me grinned.

"Anytime, I'm not just a supplier, Im your cousin." That sounded kinda stupid. He laughed any ways.

"How's your trailer coming along?" He asked when he stopped his laughter.

"Good, I was working on the shingles a little while ago."

"That explains the cotton shorts with the leather jacket." He grinned at me, making me laugh.

"You're such a dork. But it's kind of creepy that you know how I dress for different building areas." I said hoping he realized how creepy it sounded. "Besides that Cupcake and Candie's rooms have new shingles over them now."

"Some of these nicknames are absolutely ridiculous you know? How did cupcake even get his nick name? How did he agree with it?" I let a light smile grace my lips.

"I know they're ridiculous but their necessary and we know it. Cupcake's quite the oddball so I'm not entirely sure." I laughed remembering the day it stuck.

"Doesn't he bat for the other team?" I was shocked for a moment.

"Knocker!" I whisper shouted at my cousin. "He's not Gay. He and Candie are dating."

"Candie must be how it stuck then." He smirked.

"Most likely." I grinned at the thought of my two best friends.

"Let me know if you need something." He always makes sure I've got what I need despite the fact that he's 17.

"Yes sir." I rolled my eyes as I pulled the car door open and slid in the drivers seat. I pulled off my jacket as I began to close the door, the flicker of a light caught my attention in the rear view. "Knocker get down." I whispered loud enough only he could hear me.

I found myself reaching for the pistol I started carrying when I moved to this side of town. I ducked down and not so gracefully slid out of the car and crouched at the side of it. Once I reached the tail lights of the car I could tell what the light was.

"Candie, you ought not be out here alone you look tougher than you are and you know it sugar."

"I know but I didn't want you out here alone and cupcake left me alone in the trailer again." She seemed on the verge of tears.
