"Good morning breakfast is being served in the lobby in 5 minutes everyone be down to discuss what's happening." It's ghost boy except over the intercom.

I rolled over and tucked the blanket tighter around me.

"Veronica, you can't be late to war, are you insane?" Austin nearly shouted scaring me out of my shorts.

"Forget the war let's just sleep." I grabbed a pillow and hugged it.

"You're wasting time. We have like three minutes to get down stairs."

"Shoot." I jumped out of bed and dashed in the bathroom throwing a hair band around my wrist. And tugging on a pair of shorts and the first shirt I found. Brushed my teeth and headed out to meet Austin.

"That was the fastest a girl has ever gotten ready."

"Oh shut it, ain't you know I'm not a princess?" I asked rhetorically, and reached for his hand as we walked the short distance to the door of the room.

"You're a Queen, you wear your crown differently. Everyone can see that." He blushed a little bit.

"Aww look at you being all cheesy." I turned and patted his head.

"Don't pat my head." He stuck his tongue out at me.

"I will if I want to." I tasseled his hair.

"No, you did not." He made that interested yet annoyed face where you partially open your mouth and run your top set of teeth across the bottom lip, usually followed by hm.

"Oh but I did, what are you going to do about it?" I released his hand and ran to the elevator giggling.

"Stop running inside!" He tried and failed to sound like a parent teaching their kids an important lesson. That they'd still have to learn on their own to realize it was a lesson.

I hit the down arrow and when the door opened, I stepped in and grinned at Austin as I hit the close doors button. Causing him to panic and pick up his pace. Only for the doors to still close in his face. I had no intent to go anywhere without him. So when he hit the down arrow and the doors opened back up he laughed and stepped in the elevator.

We were somewhere between the fourth and third floor when without reason the elevator stopped. Not even a moment after, thunder reverberated through the thick walls of the hotel. I began to freak out. I was trapped in an elevator, with the male species. There was so much wrong with the picture.

I'd left my phone on charge with the rush to leave out. And I don't think Austin had justice or Isaiah's number and I don't remember their numbers by heart like I do Katie's.

"Calm down Veronica." Austin wrapped his arms around me, securing me to his chest from behind me. My cheeks were hot but I didn't dare to move. His embrace made me feel safe and I didn't understand why.

"Okay, how do we get out of the elevator?" I asked calmly.

"Or what if we just stay put and don't do anything dangerous?" He let me go and slid his slender frame to the floor.

"What's you're favorite color?" I asked while pacing around the small area.

"Orange." He was anxiously watching me pace to and fro. "Yours?"

"Electric blue and neon yellow." I answered.

"How long do you plan to pace like that?" He asked, running a hand through his already tousled hair.
