I said the words out loud. I've never said those words to anyone. Do I regret it? No, I don't think so. Desiree is definitely the one. We got out of the car in front of moms house, slowly. As if to savor every last moment. We walked around to the trunk of the car.

"Desiree, I wasn't kidding when I said I love you." She smiled a sad yet genuine smile.

"I wasn't either." She covered her cheeks with her palms. I faced her, and pressed my lips against her forehead while holding her hands in mine. Her arms wrapped around me when I released her hands. They held a death grip on me, not wanting to let me go

I love you, Desiree.

"We have to go inside." I reminded her, as I set my arms around her back.

"I know, but I'm not ready to leave you just yet." She said with a sigh.

"Okay you big baby, on my shoulders." I squatted down so that she could get on my back easier. She giggled as her 4'9 frame clung to the back of my 5'10 frame with ease, I picked up her bag and then her chihuahua's bag.

I carried their bags in and set them on the floor inside the door closing the door behind me. Grabbing Keiko's leash with Desiree still on my back and walked them both inside.

Why did she have to choose to live on the outskirts of the island? I want to end this feud with this person now. I'm not playing their games.

I pulled in moms driveway, and shut the engine off. Then grabbed Katie's stuff off the back of the truck as I watched clouds roll in. Cursing under my breathe, Katie held the door open for me, taking the opportunity she'd given me I walked in and set her stuff down, however little it was.

A purse, a bag of books, and what appeared to be a toiletries bag. I then went back for the bag of dog food that Veronica sent with us.

It makes sense that Katie didn't bring much since she had plenty of clothes here, she was here keeping mom company every third night anyways. We all took a turn, when we all moved out we agreed one of us would stay with mom every night that dad was out late. And now that he's gone we'll continue to do it.

"Isaiah!" I shouted. I knew he was still here. His green mustang was parked out front. Katie perked up when Desiree walked in the room. Followed by my dork of a twin.

"Justice, lower your voice you'll wake the neighbors." Momma's voice rang through the room.

"Yes ma'am." I walked over and hugged her. Her bright smile didn't falter. We knew she hurt, but she wouldn't show it, and she knew dad's heart was right. We all did, I can't say there was ever a time we found him alone that he wasn't on his knees or reading scripture.

I hope Isaiah, is closer to that than I am.

"Momma, did Isaiah tell you why we came over today?" I whispered in her ear.

"Briefly, something about a note." She stated.

"We're going to war, mom." I whispered again.

"War? Tha- that's never happened. Uhm with who?" Katie Jumped in. Mom was startled

"The street Gangs, I spoke to Veronica, according to Austin this isn't a new issue, and Dad knew about it but this is the first time they declared war."
