An hour into the celebration party after the coordination, I slip outside to escape the crowd. The pale moon casts down silvery light, illuminating the path. As I walk, I think about what is to come.
I will travel with Gimli and Legolas to the Glittering Caves and Mirkwood. After our mini adventure I know what is next for me. I just don't know how to reveal it to Legolas.
"There you are!", a deep voice exclaims, making me jump.
"Gimli?"
"Legolas is waiting for you.", he says.
"What do you mean waiting?", I ask.
"Come on.", he says while dragging me by the arm.
"What's going on?", I demand.
"Just shut it and follow me lass.", Gimli avoids.
Gimli stops at the Tree of Gondor. Legolas sits at the front, with a big plate of food at the side and two goblets.
"What is this for?", I ask curiously.
"We know you can't handle crowds after a while.", Gimli starts.
"So instead of being alone, maybe you can handle a crowd of one.", Legolas finishes.
"Diolla lle Legolas!", I thank.
(Thank you)"Actually Gimli set this up for us.", Legolas spills.
"Gimli?!" I look at the now red dwarf, "This is perfect!"
"Yeah well...", he shrugs awkwardly.
I hug him until he pushes me away.
"Right." he says clearing his throat,"If you pointy eared-lovers tell a living soul about what I did, I will not hesitate to cut your heads off with my axe!"
"I promise on my home Lothlorien we will never say anything.", I say, hiding a smile.
"Good.", he grunts and walks away.
I join Legolas on the ground, taking a sip from the goblet. The familiar liquid burns down my throat, causing me to cough.
"It's ale." my cough turns into laughter, "Of course it had to be ale."
"Gellon ned i galar i chent gîn ned i gladhog.", Legolas says.
(I love to see your eyes shine when you laugh)Legolas takes a careful sip of the ale, the same way he did the night he and Gimli had that drinking game in Rohan, which causes me to laugh more. He sets the goblet down and turns to kiss me.
I rest up against him, as we eat the food and gaze up at the night sky. The faint sound of the music from the Hall fills the air. Eventually Legolas gets up and offers me his hand.
"Lle merna salk?", Legolas asks, looking down at me.
(Do you want to dance)"I actually don't know how to dance.", I admit.
"It is easy Amber. I hold onto you as our feet move us in circles. You will catch on quick.", he reassures.
"Then I would love to dance." I say, ignoring my doubts and take his hand.
