I moved away from her bedroom door and went into the living room to pack some of the opened snacks and put them back into the cabinet. I knew Carl would be more than happy to finish these so I left them inside the cabinet and headed to bed. I climbed into the cosy blue bed, Carl was snoring beside me. Before I knew it I fell asleep beside Carl.
When I woke up the next morning, I was surprised to see the girls already awake and in the kitchen. Rue looked way better than she did, last night, her eyes weren't puffy or red. She looked much better than she did last night, it put my heart at ease. Diana and Gizem were goofing around in the kitchen and Rue was laughing at something they said while she was making her morning coffee. I liked this version of her, sometimes sassy, sometimes goofy. She saw and said, "Hey there, sleeping beauty." I laughed.
"Good morning to you too, sweetheart." I replied.
"Ohh, love is in the air again. Yay." Gizem said sarcastically.
I chuckled when I saw Rue's cheeks gain a light pink tint as she suddenly became a little too interested in her coffee.
Interesting.
I headed into the kitchen to get myself a bowl of cereal and milk and sat down on kitchen island. Rue got her coffee and sat down across from me. "Hey, can I have the chain for a minute?" She asked. I was a little confused at first but I placed it gently in her palm, regardless. She wore it around her neck and asked, "How does it look?"
"Ugly." I replied and when I earned a glare from her, I laughed and said, "I'm kidding, you look stunning wearing it." Which earned me a kick from under the table.
"Ow, what was that for?" I whined as she laughed.
"For being a failed joker." She replied as she took a sip of her coffee.
I finished my cereal and she finished her coffee when Carl finally came out. "Good morning." He chirped, if there was anyone who could be all rainbows and sunshine in the morning, it would Carl without fail.
"Good morning" Chirped Gizem back, oh and add Gizem to that list as well.
He went into the kitchen and prepared a bowl of cereal for himself as well. He came beside me and gave me a sickening sweet smile and I knew I was in trouble. "Come let's talk, Eros." I smiled back and got up, because if I didn't I knew he would drag me out by pulling my ear, and I have no intention of losing an ear today. I followed him out onto the porch, "Sit." He commanded in a deadly cold voice. If you let yourself get fooled by his rainbows and sunshine you would end up 6 feet deep in a long lost forest. Okay that's an exaggeration.
"Wassup?" I asked, my voice shaking more than I intended.
"What happened last night?" He asked, in the same deadly cold voice.
"With who?" I asked, completely knowing he was talking about Rue. Carl treated Rue like his own sister, because about two years ago Rue being the absolute kind she is, she helped Carl in something extremely important for him. And he claims he is forever grateful for her, even if she doesn't know that. He wouldn't let any harm come to her even if it came from his best friend. If this isn't enough he made me swear I wouldn't tell her about it, because it will make her uncomfortable. Basically two best friends in love with the same girl but in different ways.
"Don't play dumb, Eros. You know exactly what I'm talking about." He snapped.
"Me, playing dumb. Never." I said, rolling my eyes which earned me an unimpressed look from him.
