We walked towards the wall that was the portal and Carl removed the sword from his bag and cut the portal and we walked out.

Diana was the one looking through the manual and we three were walking, waiting for her to say something. Anything, really.

"So basically all it says is that one of these portals that we are going into is going to be different and there will be the key." Explained Diana.

"What about the door, did it mention any door?" Asked Eros.

"Oh yeah it did mention a door, it said that the door is going to be connected to the portal." Answered Diana.

"How will we know that the portal is different?" I asked.

"Apparently, the portal which has the key and door is going to be the last portal we will go inside, all these portals are just preparing us for the war." She said, shrugging it off.

We walked and while we were walking I couldn't help but think about Eros's words. Half of me wanted to believe him and just jump in his arms but the other half thought he was lying and playing with me. Even though he has never actually done anything that would make me not believe him.

I looked around and saw a leaf from the trees around us fall and wither into with ashes, the ashes fell onto the magenta coloured snow and dissolved into it.

We kept walking and the snow below me kept crushing under my foot. I could hear Carl, Eros and Diana talking about something, but I wasn't sure what they were talking about. I was basically zoned out almost the whole time, if Carl hadn't stopped from walking I would have kept walking past our cabin.

I walked inside the cabin and sat down at the chairs near the fireplace while the others were getting freshened up; part of the reason I was sitting out was because all the bathrooms were occupied. I looked into the fire and zoned out again, except this time I wasn't thinking about Eros.

A terrible memory slipped into my mind.

I was standing on a rooftop because my mom said she had a surprise for me on the roof, I was only 8 and my parents never really got me any gifts, even on my birthdays. I always thought it was because we weren't wealthy enough to buy fancy toys so I never really asked for much; but I would be completely lying if I said I didn't get jealous every time any of my friends told me about the gifts they received on their birthdays and christmas.

So when my mom told me she got me a gift I was beyond excited, I thought I could finally tell my friends an=bout something that my parents got me. I followed my mom onto the rooftop and unlike my expectations, there was absolutely nothing on the roof. So I asked my mom, "Mommy, you said you got me a gift, where is it?"

"Rue, come here, it is over here." She said, calling me towards the railing.

I gladly jogged towards her hoping for a barbie doll or one of those slime kits my friend Jessica had gotten on Christmas last year. I reached the railing and looked at my mother with nothing but excitement in my eyes.

"Your gift is down there." She said, pointing below the railing.

I looked down more confused than ever. One minute I was looking down and the other I was falling.

I was scared and I didn't know what to do, I was sure that I was going to die.

"Rue? Are you okay?" I looked up and saw Diana.

"Yeah, I am fine." I lied, I was terrified to the point I could feel my whole body shivering, I had to get my mind off this topic.

"Diana, I need a girltalk." I told her.

"Sure, we have about 20 mins until the guys get out of the shower. What happened?" She asked.

"What would you do if a guy who you think is a player but has done absolutely nothing to confirm it says the words 'I love you'?" I asked her.

"Are you talking about Eros? Rue he isn't a player, he just has a flirty personality. How come you never knew that."

"What- no I'm not talking about Eros." I bluffed and Diana immediately gave me the look.

"Ok maybe, it was Eros."

"Well, do you like him?" she asked.

"I don't really know, I like him but at the same time he gets under my skin and his voice can turn my whole body into a zoo. And he is really annoying sometimes but the other I feel like I could just stare into his forest green eyes." I confessed.

Diana looked at me like I was crazy and then said, "You. Are. So. Dumb."

"What? What did I do?" I whined.

"You are literally in love with him." She said.

Even though she said it softly, her words echoed into the whole room.
