Amelia

I was excited to find out that we were half way through the game but I was kind of sad because this experience has been life changing for me, literally. It sometimes feels like this is all a dream and none of it is real, but if this all is a dream, it would prove that dreams are the only weapon in the war against reality.

"What do you think the gem looks like?" Asked Diana, breaking the silence. "I don't know." I responded. We sat down on the seat on the boat and rode the boat towards the hanging garden. As the beautiful structure came into view, the details that were carved into the walls looked angelic. We reached the door of the garden, swung open and we stepped inside, only to get hit by the scents of rich flowers. If someone asked me what paradise looked like, I would describe this place. It was quiet but the chirps of the birds filled the air.

We walked around to search for the gem but really we were just admiring the building. The first room we entered was a balcony and the rays of the golden sun were hitting the perfectly sculpted water fountains, the second room was the dining room and around the dining room were exotic plants I had never seen in my entire life. They were placed inside delicate vases that looked like they would cost at least thousands of dollars in the real world. One of the rooms I visited was a library, it was beautiful and the library you would see in a royal palace. The other rooms were majestic as any other but they were just places you would sit and read at or walk around in.

When we finished walking around we actually started to look for the gem, we split up because we thought it would be more effective that way. I went into the library to search for the gem and I just enjoyed the woody scent of old books. I went around looking in drawers of the table and looking behind some books that could have the gem behind them. When I didn't find anything for an hour and a half I decided to just sit down for a moment and think this through. The craving of the stone said that we would have to use our powers and our mental strength. I was thinking about how I could use that information to our advantage when I heard someone enter, I thought it was Diana so I didn't bother to get up.

When I heard the footsteps coming closer, I realised they were a little heavy to be Diana's. That was when I looked up, and I saw Amelia. Amelia or my mother had a messed up face with purple dark spots under her eyes indicating she hadn't slept for a few days. In her hands was a gun, her eyes set on me. I tried to get up but every time I tried the awful memories filled me and I was stuck in my spot like a statue. Her brown eyes judging me in a way no one ever should be judged. She kept stepping towards me, each step becoming excruciatingly slower. That was when it hit me, she couldn't be here, this had to be a trick. Why would Amelia be here, in this game? I knew it was a trick but I couldn't move regardless, my fear of her was bigger than anything else on this planet.

I tried to move, get up and run, or at least even call for help, none of it was working. I tried to focus on her and tried to control her, but I just couldn't. I was... scared. I was scared of my own mother, the one person in this whole world that was supposed to be by my side during the good and the bad. The one person who was supposed to love me unconditionally and I would do the same for her, but here I was getting scared of her. Something inside me became fragile, but not fragile like a flower that would be pretty for a few days and then wither; but like a bomb. I bomb that would blast in front of anyone who would not treat it care. I was that bomb right now, with Amelia standing in front of me with the gun in her hand, I was ready to blast and demolish her if she even moved towards me the wrong way.

I got up from my seat and walked towards Amelia with as much confidence as I could summon, I held my head up and controlled her to stop once again, only this time I passed. "What are you doing?" Her fragile voice spoke, fighting to get free of my control. I focused harder, "Repaying the favour of being a good daughter, mother." I responded. Her big brown eyes darkened, I felt her thin body weakening, she fell completely under her control. I was in her mind, I could see her memories, her thoughts. Everything inside her mind was dark, chaotic and bitter. It was sickening to even be here, my intention when I came into her mind was to find out if I was the problem growing up, if it was my fault that she didn't love me enough. But in her mind, I, her daughter wasn't really the most important thing for her. Her supplies were. I wasn't surprised.

I left her mind and looked down at her unconscious body slowly coming back to life. I actually loved brown eyes, they usually shined brighter than any city could but when Amelia opened her brown eyes, they were so dark and hideous that to look at them was an eyesore. "Leave before this situation gets any worse for you." I commanded and with that she dropped her gun and ran. I wasn't calm yet but now I was aware of my surroundings, which I wasn't before. I went around the library to look for the gem we were supposed to look for but instead I found a pair of forest green eyes looking at me. Eros was standing near the table next to one of the bookcases. His hand folded, he leaned on the table with a glint of amusement in his eyes.

"What are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to find the gem?" I asked. "Diana already found it, I originally came here to call you to have a bite since it is getting really late, instead I found you defeating your mother." He replied, the glint of amusement in his eyes disappearing and turning into something wilder.

"I thought it was a mind game this place was playing with me." I replied. "Of course it was, but it wasn't happening in your mind, it was physical."he answered and after a long pause he asked, "How are you feeling?"

"Better, I mean I'm not sure but, it just feels lighter. If you know what I mean." I responded, my emotions switching. "Yeah I do. Come here sweetheart." Eros called out, and before I knew it my legs obeyed him. Eros pulled me tight in his arms and whispered, "I'm so proud of you."

I melted in his arms, never wanting to leave.
