Maude didn't want anything big or flashy, so two weeks after I proposed we were married in my parents back garden. Family and a select few friends joined us to help us celebrate our union.  It turned into a celebration weekend.

Maude and Viri had hit it off straight away, which was both a blessing and a curse, my cousin being far to strong a female to argue with and egging my new wife to assert herself even more.
Viri had also explained how much I would worry about her and how it would probably turn me into a caveman, she had laughed but Viri had pointed out she had four protective Neanderthals of her own, even if they were currently a little distracted with their 1 year old son Blaise so she knew what she was talking about.

At the end of the weekend, Viri had announced she was pregnant again and her husbands had whisked her and Blaise home, to take care of them. Viri laughing as she went and promising to stay in touch.

Maude had handed in her notice at the library but was now chairwoman of the Community Library Fund. Natalie had stepped down after her daughters outburst with Liam. Alistair had suggested Maude be chair and was happy to work around all of my security concerns.

Mum had loved both books, we had given her one as a thank you for helping with the wedding and the other for her birthday last week. Maude was now helping mum catalogue both our's and mum's library. I knew both had a wish list of first editions they wanted and I wondered who would get their list completed first.

I took her to Italy for our honeymoon, we had a month travelling around the country, stopping at different cities and places as it took our fancy, using the family holiday home as a base. Her excitement at each stage had given me a desire to show her the whole world.

I hadn't brought up her brother, she had not wanted him at the wedding but had informed him she was getting married, he had not replied to her text even though it was marked as read and I hadn't pushed.

Dom had been looking further into the mess he was in but had promised he would make sure she was protected. I knew he would update me once he knew anything.

"'Leo!" I hear her call me as I walk through the door, grinning as I follow the sound of her voice to the library, where she is pouring over the latest book I've found for her.
"This is too much" she scolds pulling me into a kiss before going back to the book and I laugh.  Every time I send another book she tells me the same thing but I don't care and I know as soon as I track down another we will repeat the same dance.
"I've got to help you beat mum, she's got Dad and Dom helping her" I remind her and she leans into my side, her lips coming up to mine, "I love you baby" I whisper and she smiles at me.
"'I love you too"
