Seliel sent several guards flying through the doors and past the gates. Wu disappeared behind the desk, "Harumi installed a device connected to a barrier so that those without elemental powers couldn't get through. I don't know how to get this started."

Zane shoved a guard away, "Let me try. You lot, buy me time!"

"You heard the man!" Morro ordered, blasting a guard back with his sword. Zane's fingers rapidly moved across the keyboard, initiating a ten second timer.

"We have ten seconds, get these guards out of here!" he bellowed, starting the timer. Seliel broke one's jaw and threw him out, as did Morro. A guard came running to Misako, sword raised, but the elderly women simply stepped aside, and the guard slammed into the wall, going out cold. Picking him up, Morro threw him out too.

"The barrier's up." Zane stated, "the guards can't get past the barriers now."

It was invisible, and they could see some of the guards struggle to their feet, others trying to get past the invisible dome.

Misako glared at the guards, before beckoning to the others, "Lets go and get you cleaned up-"

"What about Harumi?" Seliel asked. Skylor wrapped an arm around her, "I think the others have it under control. Plus, we need to gear up."

As Cole staggered back, he fell, and Kai rushed to his aid, cradling him in his arms. Tears streamed down from both of their cheeks. Harumi sprinted out of the room, running away from the scene.

"You guys go catch up with Harumi, I'll stay here with Cole !" Kai argued as Lloyd, Nya and Jay looked at him. They all couldn't believe that their friend, Cole was dying but then again..they couldn't let Harumi get away.

They all ran after Harumi while it was just Kai and Cole. Kai looks at Cole who looked really pale, The boy loved him and he couldn't believe that his boyfriend was going to die on him like that.

"Kai..." Cole whispered, he couldn't speak as loud as he wanted too but it was enough for Kai to hear him.

"I'm right here baby. I'm not going anywhere." Kai was holding Cole's hand with tears streaming down his face, Kai already went through so many pain. He was losing everybody who was the closest to him.

"It's okay." Cole whispered, stroking his cheek. Kai shook his head, "No, it's not! Cole, you're dying!"

"In your arms," he wheezed, "I'm dying...in your arms. That's more than enough for me. It's perfect. Death comes to us all sooner or later, we can't control it no matter what."

Kai shook his head, sobbing uncontrollably, "I can't let you die, Cole! We were...s-sworn to protect..." Kai was practically stuttering and he hated it the most, he hated feeling weak but what could he do?

"It's okay..."

"No..."

"I love you, Kai...Kai Smith. I feel so lucky to have someone that makes saying goodbye so hard." This made Kai cry harder, and he cupped his face, as he took his final breath.

Crying out, Kai rested his head on his chest, tears flooding down from his eyes, "I never said it back. I never fucking said it back!"

Cole was a hero.

A son.

A brother.

A friend.

Straightening up, looked at him, before leaning down...

...and pressing a gentle kiss on his lips...

...his last kiss with him...

...and his last...

The Kiss of a true elemental master. Kai had learnt about it from his father when he was young. It was told that a kiss exchanged between soulmates can heal and/or resurrect.

Cole's only hope of survival was the kiss of a true elemental master...if only it wasn't an old wives' tale. Kai didn't believe it but maybe his father was right..maybe his father wasn't joking around. Maybe his father was an elemental master but never told him the truth. Kai was just praying that what his father told him was the truth.

Looking ahead, he clapped a hand over his mouth to stifle his sobs, which didn't help at all. He knew that Harumi was going to pay no matter what. Harumi was dead to Kai.

What he didn't know was that the Kiss of a true elemental master wasn't an old wives' tale, as Cole's stab wound started glowing golden, as it healed, slowly but surely.

He gaped in complete shock as his chest slowly rose and fell. His eyes squinted, as he opened them, and looked around, as if he'd just been napping this entire time instead of dying and coming back to life.

Kai was in disbelief. It was true of what his father said which meant that Kai was a elemental master. He inherited the powers of his father..who was fire.

"What's going on?" Cole said as he stared into Kai's eyes.

Kai was speechless, "The kiss worked."

"What kiss?" Cole asked, "Did you kiss me?"

"The Kiss of a true elemental master" he murmured, "it's real! No, no, wait, I had to say something." As he sat up, Kai gripped his shoulders, "I love you too."

Grinning like a dork, Cole leaned in and kissed Kai, like there was no tomorrow, mixed with laughter and tears. Once they pulled away, Kai took a hold of his chin, "I thought I lost you!"

Cole shook his head, "Can't get rid of me that easy. I never die" which made Kai laugh like crazy as he smiled at Cole who was alive right in front of him.

"Wait. Kai I have something to tell you." Cole knew this was the moment, he wasn't going to wait anymore. This was the time.

"Hm?" Kai was confused on what Cole was going to do.

Cole got out the box out of his pocket and went down on one of his knees, Kai knew what he was doing.

"For the past 3 years of my life, it has been the best years of my life with you in it. You have made me the happiest and luckiest guy by me dating you. The moments that I have spent with you, I have cherished them the most."

"Our dates, our first kiss everything about our relationship has been the best but..I want more. I want you to be my husband, I want to be with you forever no matter what happens. I want to grow old with you and possible adopt some kids with you..I want to do everything with you because I love you so so much Kai and you mean the world to me." Kai was just about to cry at this point. He didn't deserve Cole, he was just too nice.

"So Kai..will you do the honors of being my fiancé?" Cole smiled as he pulls out of the ring of the box, All Kai could do was nod 'yes' for Cole to put the ring onto Kai's wedding finger.

Kai hugged Cole immediately really tight, Kai was once again emotional for what he had experienced. Yes, Kai had gotten married before but the thing between his marriage was that it was forced. For his family sake, he had to marry Harumi.

He was a Royal after all. But the proposal that Cole had just did was different, it wasn't forced or anything like that. it came out naturally. Kai regrets getting married to Harumi and he surely wasn't happy but with Cole..Kai could feel it in his heart that this marriage was going to be one of the best.

Kai looks at the ring after he hugs Cole, just how beautiful it looked. It looked really expensive. If Kai had to guess how much it costed..he would probably say around 80k.

"That ring has been passed down from every family member of mine you know. My father gave it to my mother before she passed and now it's my turn to pass on the legacy." Cole's father might've been an alcoholic but before that, Lou was a sweet husband to Lily.

"It looks really beautiful." Kai says, still admiring the ring.

"Not as beautiful as you." Cole mumbled as he leans in for another kiss, Cole wrapped his arms around Kai and rested his head atop of him.

Kai was happy and Cole himself was happy.
