Chapter 35

"Kai! You gotta wake up!" Cole had already put Kai onto his lap and god..was Kai a mess.

Kai was pretty fucked up. He had blood everywhere on his torso, his hands, his legs, his face. Everywhere. Cole wasn't even sure if Kai was even alive. He had so many open wounds on him.

Cole was shaking in fear. He haven't felt like this since his first day at his mafia gang. And it wasn't a good sign.

Cole didn't know what to feel. Was it angry that Kai was like this? Was it pain because his fiancé was suffering?  He didn't know.

"God damn it. Your not supposed to die before me" which was true, Kai was always the one who was sacrificing his life and not thinking of himself. Whenever somebody that he cared about was in trouble, he would put his own life at risk to save them. It was always him.

He could hear the sobs of Nya right behind him. Cole couldn't believe it. He lost somebody who he cared the most.

Cole already lost both of his parents..he was gonna lose Kai. He thought of the kiss that Kai gave him when he got stab in the chest.

Could it work on Kai?

I mean, Cole was a earth elemental and Kai was fire. It could work!

Cole leans in and kisses Kai on the lips, he looks at the brunette and whispers.

"Please make it work." Cole never believed in anything that people say in history books, he always thought it was a myth. He wasn't a believer in anything but this right now..he was hoping that the kiss are correct because Cole wasn't sure what he was going to do if he lost Kai right now.

After a few minutes, Cole didn't even see Kai wake up. He was gone. And Cole couldn't process it in his mind. Everybody was in denial. Nya was crying even more than before, Lloyd had his hands around Nya to comfort her but how could anybody comfort anybody with the loss of somebody so dear to them all?

"God damn Kai. God fucking damn it." Cole was in tears, everybody was speechless. They all saved ninjago but at what cost. Kai was dead.

It was until Kai opens his eyes very slowly, waking from his passed out. Kai didn't know where he was until he felt Cole's tears dripping in front of his face.

"Hi" he says, his voice was really low and very raspy but he was smiling. God he could feel the pain of the stab wounds that he still had on his body.

"Hi" Cole said, laughing and smiling at his fiancé. God, he was so cute yet such an idiot.

He finally gets up from the floor, He looks at his suit which was pretty much ripped out. Nya immediately attacks him with a hug, crying with more tears. Her hug was pretty tight. He could feel the pain from the wounds he had.

"Don't you ever fucking do that shit again." Nya was pretty mad at Kai for almost dying. She and Kai grew up together, Nya wasn't really close with her mother.

"Don't worry sis, I won't." Kai hugs her back, embracing the moment the both of them were having. The smith went through a lot. Kai removes himself from the hug and wipes away Nya's tears, he didn't like when Nya cried at all. It made him feel pretty guilty.

"It's over!" Skylor breathed, "It's really over!" Everybody was cheering, Nya was kissing Lloyd, Skylor and Seliel were hugging each other as well with Jay and Morro while Kai looked over at Harumi's dead body.

He felt bad. He knew that he shouldn't have felt bad. I mean, Harumi almost killed his whole family. Harumi made Kai suffer. She was crazy but there was a point in his life where he did feel bad. I mean both of them were so young when their parents died.

"Hey, you alright?" Cole walked over to his fiancé, putting  his arms around Kai's waist.

"Yeah...I'm alright." Kai says, smiling back at Cole. Kai was still shocked by the situation that happened but..he was alive.

Wu entered the room, followed by Misako and Pixal, "I must say, we wouldn't have had a chance if Kai never spotted it. I'm extremely proud of each and every one of you. And I think it's safe to say that the future of Ninjago City looks bright."

"However," Misako spoke up, "This isn't an excuse to slack off. This will require hard work, and perseverance. Are you up for it?"

Exchanging glances, they nodded excitedly. Wu clapped his hands.

"Well, Let's roll! We have a party to celebrate!" Wu cheered as the rest of them left the building.

Kai looks at Cole and then looks at Nya, maybe some time in a few months he'll tell the both of them of what their parents said to them. Today just felt like an emotional day but he was glad that it was over for good. His ex wasn't able to try to kill him, Ninjago was saved. This was a win.
