Day Ten
~The whole of that day and yesterday, Touya hadn't moved from the bed. It had started since he found out Endeavor was Number One. He was just moody now, sulking with his head in the pillow half the time, or stalking around the bar with his hood up - he and Keigo had recieved brand new hoodies from Atsuhiro, who Shimura had said was the only person who actually bothered buying new clothes on a regular basis. Apparently the rest of them only spent their money on clothes when they were properly worn out, or when winter came.
Touya's was navy - he was quite pleased with it - and Keigo's was a dark grey. Simple, but at least they didn't need to wear those horrible jumpsuits with their sickly orange. Atsuhiro and Shuichi (or Spinner - Keigo had grown quite used to the nickname) also spared pants for them as well, so now for the first time in six years, Keigo could lounge around comfortably in sweatpants.
Anyway.
Keigo was planning on using Shimura's computer again, but the crusty man was in his room with the door shut tight. He tried to look through the keyhole - a surprise that he even had one - but Shimura had stuffed it up with something or other.
Guy's sus as hell…
He went back to the main bar and went behind the counter, opening the door at the end of it (where the counter connects to the wall?). The kitchen looked like one of the professional ones, with white walls and a silver metal worktable in the middle of it, but much, much smaller. In the mornings, the people who liked a cooked breakfast crowded it, since because it wasn't a proper kitchen, there was no stove, no oven, and no hobs for if you wanted to fry anything.
Instead, the group all shared a single travel cooker with a gas lighter. A miniature dishwasher had been shoved under the countertops, along with a small washing machine. It might have been weird having the washing machine in the kitchen, but there was definitely no space in the bathroom. And as well as that, there was no dryer, either - everyone had to hang up their wet clothes on a washing line on the roof.
In the kitchen, it was just Spinner and that weird girl, Toga, messing about. Sako was in his room, probably practicing his magic, and Keigo knew Jin was out, so they were two less people to worry about. He wondered what he could do to make Shimura come out of his room, but then an idea formed in his head. He had to do something a little serious, but not too bad that it would cost them much, so he detached a few feathers and sent them into a kitchen, making them tamper with their one cooker. He then entered the room so that the focus would be on him, and no one would notice the cooker-that-was-currently-being-broken behind them.
“Hey, Spinner. Yaknow, I saw somewhere that there's an achievement you get can if you reach level sixty nine on Minecraft survival mode. Sounds pretty…interesting.” Iguchi looked up, raising a skeptical eyebrow.
“You're kidding. No way there'd be an achievement for something like that. That's dumb.”
Keigo shrugged. “Well, only one way to find out. What level are you on?”
Spinner paused for a second, thinking. “I don't play Minecraft as much as Mario, but I am on level sixty two…” He dashed out of the room with an excited grin on his face. “It's worth a try!”
Toga trailed along behind him while carrying a rather large chef's knife, and she waved it about as she whined, making Keigo jerk back to get out if the way. “But Iggy, we hadn't even got to the choppy bit yet!” she said.
Keigo paid no attention to her and quickly went back to Tenko's door, knocking on it twice. “Uh, Shimura? I was gonna fry some chicken but there's somethin' up with the cooking thing. You gotta check it out.” He heard a loud groan in reply. A groan that said ‘Bitch, get someone else to do that shit for you.’
