Keigo sighed shakily as he took his phone from his pocket, putting it to his ear.
It rang and rang. No answer. He tried again. This time Touya picked up.
"Kei?"
Keigo felt his heart leap at the sound of his voice, and he found himself blushing.
"Uhm, hey," he said. He was a bit stuck for words since he hadn't planned out what he was going to say. Either that or he was so totally crushing on Touya right now.
"I haven't talked to you for ages."
"Yep." Stop being so fucking dry, you fucking idiot, Keigo inwardly scolded. He ran a hand through his hair, looking over the horizon. "How have you been?"
"Pretty good. I met my family. Well, not Endeavor. But my siblings." Keigo smiled.
"That's great. I knew you'd do it. What did they say?"
"There was crying, and some arguing, but overall? Okay. Shoto wasn't exactly welcoming and he isn't replying to any of my messages, but he at least promised not to tell dad, so that's something."
Keigo snorted. "I'm glad I don't have siblings. No offence."
"None taken. What about you though? How's things going with your mother?"
"Shitty, honestly. I fucked up and..." Keigo faltered. "I may have stolen a car." Touya was quiet.
"...Are you joking?"
"No."
"You fucking-"
"Bro, I had no other choice!" Keigo grinned and leaned his back on the balcony railings, so he was facing the glass window. Tomie was probably in the bathroom because the door was shut - he expected her to be eavesdropping, but he was glad she wasn't. "We had to get away from some therapy lady after she passed out. Oh yeah, and I knocked out her daughter, too."
"What the fuck? I told you not not do anything stupid."
"You never said that."
"Well I thought it."
"Too bad I didn't recieve your message by telepathy then." He heard Touya scoff at him mockingly through the other side of the phone.
"Stop fucking joking around. I found out some real interesting shit the other day, you know."
"Oh?"
"Yeah. Remember when we were snooping around in that crusty bastard's room?"
"Shimura?"
"That's the one. You remember how one of the folders on his old PC said 'dads process' or some shit?"
"It said: 'father's recovery progess'."
"Yeah, yeah. Well I heard from that Jin guy that none of them are supposed to have fathers. They all swore they abandoned their family, or some other cult shit."
"Seriously?"
"I'm sure. But basically, Shimura is hiding something. Something big. And we gotta find out what it is."
"Because, blackmail?"
Keigo could hear the smirk in Touya's voice. "Exactly," he said. "We'll find out that bitch's secret and threaten to expose him. He says he's the leader of the group but I'd like to know how they'd react when they realise he's been going behind their backs this whole time."
