“Are you sure you're okay?”
“I'm fucking fine, now stop asking me,” Touya grumbled back.
It was dark out now, and Touya, Keigo, Sako (Compress - just reminding y'all), Jin and Toga were in the bar while Spinner and Shimura were gaming in the back room, occasionally yelling and cursing at each other in fury. Touya had finally come out of his room, but it was only to join Keigo drinking since being left alone and sober with your troublesome thoughts was very tiring.
Keigo only started drinking because Toga wouldn't stop fiddling with his feathers, and it was getting on his nerves. While she got out a selection of scarlet red wines, she had said: ‘Because I can't legally drink alcohol yet, I'll let you have your feathers if you try these for me and tell me what they taste like.’ Keigo wasn't a huge fan of wine, but he agreed to it because he hadn't binged on alcohol for a long time.
Now he had a lopsided smile on his face, asking: “What about now?” And Toga would give him another glass, also smiling. She honestly looked so innocent, but everyone knew what she was up to.
“Nope! There's still more you gotta taste.”
“Bring it on! It'll be a while before I get drunk.”
“Are you sure you're not already drunk?” Touya asked.
“No, I'm still sober. Just a little.” Keigo let out a small burp, covering his mouth afterwards, then wearily eyed the rest of the glasses of wine he had to go through. “But I would like some proper beer.” Touya rolled his eyes.
“Huh, you know, I haven't been proper wasted for all the time we were in prison,” Keigo said nochalantly. While out with Touya in his teenage years, he remembered chugging on some kind of alcohol, thinking he was proper cool or some shit. Touya teased he wouldn't be able to handle it and he decided to put that to the test. Unfortunately for him, the next day he had woken up with a shitty migraine and was stumbling about when he walked - after throwing up in the toilet. Now he always cringed whenever he thought about it, since Touya had done nothing to help but simply laughed at him, and how he had lost the bet.
“Yeah, and?” Touya have him a look. “What're you implying?”
Keigo glanced at him with a small smirk. “Nothing,” he said. Toga waved her hand in front of his face to get his attention and then pushed a small glass in front of him.
“Keigo, you haven't finished trying them all out yet! This one's supposed to taste like pomegranates, and I love pomegranates.”
Keigo looked at her; she was resting her head sideways on her arms which were folded on the bar counter, and he sighed at the huge smile on her face. While pushing the glass away, he opened his mouth to reply, but just like the afternoon prior, was interrupted.
“Since when did you call him Keigo? He only lets me call him Keigo,” Touya sneered.
“I think someone's a little jealous,” Sako said, raising his eyebrows.
The scarred man turned in his chair, glaring at the magician. “I am not jealous,” he stated firmly. “Why would I be jealous? There is absolutely nothing to be jealous of.”
Saki shrugged, shoving his pack of cards into a small pocket in his waistcoat. “You could have at least been more subtle about it. I mean, along with the sudden offense to Toga calling Takami by his first time, there was the repetitive denial. Not to mention the constant side glances. And the classic grumpy attitude. Honestly.”
“What the fuck? Stop that.”
“Stop what?”
“Oh my gosh!” Toga exclaimed suddenly, placing her hands on her cheeks to cover her blush. “Touya-kun, I never knew!"
