"Baby, wake up." I heard him say faintly and I groaned as tried to make myself comfortable so I could go back to sleep when I heard him curse under his breath. "Bomboclaat."
I shot up frantically and my head snapped around to look at him almost giving myself whiplash.
"Are you okay?" He was holding his ribs and I felt bad because I was the reason he was in pain.
I fell asleep.
I should have been more careful but why didn't he wake me up sooner.

"Yeah."
"Did I hurt you?"
"Mi ribs dem just a stick mi likkle bit."
"Let me go get the doctor." I made a move to get off the bed but he stopped me. "You're in pain Kareem, let me go get the doctor."
"Mi can bear it Sienna."
"I'm sorry I hurt you." I tried getting off the bed again but he stopped me yet again.
"Stop try leave nuh, mi can bear di pain."
What did he think was going to happen?
Did he think I was going to leave and not come back?
"I'm not going anywhere Kareem and if I do then I'm coming back because I'm only going to get the doctor so she can give you something for the pain."
"Just lay down, mi good."
"Kareem?" He tugged on my arm and motioned for me to lay back down.
I didn't want to because I could see that he was in pain but I wasn't trying to cause him any stress.
Why was he purposely hurting himself for my sake?
I didn't need him to do that.
"Come nuh man. Yuh neva seh yuh wah sleep suh come sleep." He tugged my hand yet again and I just obliged him by laying down.
Trying my best not to disturb his injuries any further as to cause him more pain.
"Yuh sure yuh nuh want mi fi guh call di doctor?"
"Yuh stubborn eeh man." I kissed my teeth and rolled my eyes. "Mi nah wile yuh enuh miss."
"Anything yuh seh Ashman." I snuggled up to him as best I could and closed my eyes.
He rubbed my back and I could feel as he threw some of his blanket over my body to cover me up.
He pulled it up to my shoulders and I smiled loving how he was still trying to make sure I was good even though he was in pain. °°°°°°°°°°°
