I sat down at the kitchen island drinking some tea before I left to go to work but I was killing some time because Tara asked me to pick her up and she hadn't left home yet.
"Morning, can I talk to you?" I was a bit startled because I hadn't heard him come into the kitchen and because him wanting to talk to me never ended well because he was more than likely about to get on my case about something I did.
"Me?"
"Yeah, yuh nah fi worry, yuh nuh duh nthn."
"Oh, okay." He took a seat next to me and I scooted over a little bit, not sure if he noticed but if he did, he didn't say anything.
"Mi know u an Ems close suh dats y mi a ask yuh dis. She look any different to yuh?"
"How different?"
"Like she's pregnant."
"She still looks the same to me but do you think she is?" He ran his hands down his face and sighed.
"I think so but mi nuh know yah man."
"So why not just ask her?"
"Mi wah ask her but mi nuh wah get mi hopes up an den she nuh pregnant. Bro mi really want dis enuh an mi nah guh love her nuh less if she's not but mi would a be di happiest man a earth right now if she was."
"Just ask her."
"An she neva hint at nthn to yuh?"
"No, but ask her because that's the only way to know for sure."
"You're right. Thanks for the talk." He got up and I picked up my tea cup to finish my tea. "Drive safe and oh, aguh need yuh car keys dem later wen yuh forward from work." Please don't let him be taking away my car.
"Did I do something wrong?"
"Oh, no. Mi just get yuh a likkle upgrade cause yuh ave dis fi a likkle while now suh mi think it's time fi a change, nthn too serious." I wanted to be excited that he was getting me a new car but with the way how things were between us now, it was making it really hard for me to think that he was doing this out of the goodness of his heart. I lived my car that I already had and yes I had had it for awhile but I wasn't fussy about it because all I needed to know was that it could get me to where I was going and back home.

"Don't worry about it. Later." With that said, he left the room and left me with so many thoughts running through my mind but I pushed them to the back of my mind so I could go pick up Tara and get my day started.
