My phone started ringing just as I was getting out of the shower and I quickly grabbed my towel to wrap around my body before taking up the phone to see who was calling. I thought about ignoring the call seeing that it was Kareem but I had been avoiding seeing him anywhere outside the office after that morning and it wasn't fair to him because he needed to know why I was avoiding him.
"Hey." I greeted him when I accepted the call and he kissed his teeth. "What?"
"Yuh been a avoid mi wul heap from di odda day an mi a try figure out wah mi duh."
"You didn't do anything."
"Suh y?"
"Fine." I pinched the bridge of my nose and sighed. "I think Niko knows that something is going on between us."
"Him tell yuh exactly dat inna words?"
"No."
"Den wah Sienna?"
"Him ask if yuh ever try look mi or try touch mi or look pan mi inna any way weh mi nuh like."

"Yes Kareem."

"Yes and he said no so I don't know." I really didn't know what to do because I missed him but it was better to miss him while he was alive than to miss him if he was to end up dead.
