A knock came at my office door and I straightened up making sure I was presentable. "Come." The door opened and I was surprised to see whose head popped into my office.
"Angelina?"
"In the flesh baby." She came into the room and shut the door.
"What are you doing here?" She was usually at work at this time so I was confused.
"He didn't tell you?"
"Tell me what?"
"He hired me."
"That's good." I didn't think he remembered and I never asked him about it again but congrats to her. "When do you start?"
"I started this morning."
"Yah gwaan man suh how yuh like di work environment suh far?"
"Everybody I've met so far has been super nice." Until they weren't but maybe she would have better luck than I did.
"That's good, just nuh get too friendly wid dem female deh cause dem messy bad."
"Noted." She looked around my office and it was honestly so plain because I hadn't really done anything to it. "Yuh office nice tho."
"It can gwaan."
"Anyways, what do you usually do for lunch?" I took a small glance at my computer screen and sure enough it was almost lunch time, twenty minutes to be exact.
"Tara usually orders lunch for the three of us."
"Three?"
"Me, her and our other friend that works in marketing."
"Yuh ave plans den man."
"I can call her and have her order something for you too." I told her as I picked up the phone to call Tara but she put up her hand to stop me.
"It's okay, I'll figure something out."
"It's no problem enuh."
"Dat good man."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah." She checked her watch. "Heading back to my desk so I'll see you later."
"Okay." She turned around and left before I picked up the phone and called Tara who picked up almost immediately.
"Hi baby."
"Hey Tee, did you order anything for lunch yet?"
"I was just about to."
"Since yuh nuh dweet yet, mek it stay an just call Dacia so she can get ready because we're going out of the office for lunch, my treat."
"Okay, what time should I tell her?"
"About 12:30."
"Alright, I'll let her know." I ended the call then I sent Angel a text before I picked up my iPad and got up. I walked out of my office pulling the door closed before walking to his office door and knocking.
