"Where are we going?" I asked as he pulled up to the gate up of a housing complex and rolled his window down. The security guard on duty walked over to the car and looked straight at me before saying anything to Kareem.

"Welcome sir."

"Thanks." He went back into the guardhouse and opened the gate for us. Kareem honked the horn before he drove onto the property and made a left turn. The houses here weren't big but they were homey and just the right size for someone that wasn't at all fussy.

"You still haven't answered my question."

"I'm picking up my little sister from mom's house." He made a right turn and drove a little bit before he stopped the car. "She's coming to spend a few days with me while my mom is out of town."

"How old is your little sister again?"

"Iana is fifteen." He picked up his phone and dialed a number before he put it to his ear. "I'm outside."

"Aren't you going in to say hi to your mom?" He spoke so highly of his mom but in the time that I had known him, I had never heard him say he was going to visit his her.

"I love my mom, no questions asked but we're not really on the best of terms right now."

"Can I ask what happened?"

"We had a huge falling out some time ago and I just decided that I was going to love her from a distance." I looked at him to see that he had this faraway look in his eyes but it disappeared as soon as I noticed it. "Enough about that and I hope you don't feel any type of way that I just sprang meeting my sister on you."

"It's okay." Meeting a man's family didn't mean anything most times because some family members indulged in their son's or nephew's games but he spoke too highly of his family and he had been a man of his word so far so I was trusting that he was serious about us.

"There she is." I looked in the direction he was pointing in and saw this pretty little girl lugging a suitcase behind her. She didn't look a day over twelve but I wasn't saying anything because I didn't look like twenty-four. "Likkle lady full a tough chat essi." She finally got to the car and knocked on my window which he rolled down. She gave him a big smile before her face contorted into a frown.

"What are you still sitting down in the car for?"

"Iana?"

"Kareem?"

"Where are your manners?"

"My bad but my suitcase isn't going to put itself in the trunk."

"Just get in the car an stop di noise." He got out of the car and she climbed into the backseat. He went and got the suitcase in the trunk before getting back into the car. He turned around to look at her. "Yuh nuh si big ppl likkle girl?"

"You didn't introduce us."

"Fine. Iana this is Sienna." She poked her head between both seats and held out her hand for a handshake.
