Three days had passed, and I had heard nothing from Nichkhun. How could Lucas possibly shut his mouth about what he'd witnessed at the party? It was hard for me to assume that this had something to do with luck because I wasn't lucky by a long shot.

I tried to keep Lisa's hands off me after being seen at the party, just to be on the safe side, but all I could think of was Lisa's mouth on mine and the delicious way her hands would roam all over my body. It was hard to keep myself from fantasising about what we could be, under normal circumstances.

If Lisa had been well, would she still desire me? These questions continued to pop up in my mind, with my subconscious state refusing to let them go.

I sat in the room's darkness with only my thoughts to keep me company.

There was a soft knock on the door.

It was Lisa.

I'd successfully avoided her night visitations by not answering the door, but it was proving to be difficult when all I wanted to do was to allow her inside. I also had these questions in my head that preoccupied my mind.

What if Lisa had been the same with the caregivers here before me? What if she did the same with them and Nichkhun had killed them for touching his sister?

I'd done some research on the previously employed caregivers. Most of them seemed to be in their late thirties or forties. There were only two who were as young as me. Three of which had died tragically. Two others had left the job. Nobody under the Manoban employment was allowed to quit their jobs. According to what I'd learned, they either ended up dead or stayed on at the estate. There were far too many secrets buried within the family, and Nichkhun didn't want it to be leaked outside. After all, they had a prestigious reputation and pristine image to upkeep. No matter how nice the outside world thought that they were, the truth was that they were beyond fucked up. There was something bad going on here, and I was yet to find out what it is.

Another soft knock brought me back to reality.

I asked her to come inside.

Lisa stepped into the room. She was just wearing a tank top and a pair of sweatpants on her hips. My eyes glazed over as I took in the vast expanse of her broad shoulders, the muscles, and her arms that looked almost sculpted.

A wave of lust hit me.

If Lisa had tried to do something to the previous caregivers, I'm sure that they would have opened their legs for her willingly.

I was going crazy. She was driving me crazy.

"Hey, sweetie..."I whispered, as if the walls could hear us. "What's up?"

She lowered herself onto my bed, while the whiff of her familiar scent tinged my nostrils, and if I was shameless enough to admit it. I was probably soaking with desire. Despite her silence, she seemed to always find a way to communicate with her eyes, those deep brown-golden eyes that looked almost luminous in the dark. Since I'd stopped giving her the medication, her eyes had a distinct glow about them. They weren't devoid of life, like how they used to be when I first came to the mansion. The fog was slowly lifting from her mind and body. The panic attacks had also minimised.

She placed a paper crane in front of me and smiled. "For you."

If not for Nichkhun, Sorn, Bambam and Lucas, I was sure to die from sugar-coma, while working in the Manoban household, because Lisa was really sweet to me all the time.

I picked it up, "Thank you."

Her nose flared as she suddenly reached for my dress and pulled it up.

"Lisa, no!" I shrieked in a whisper as loudly as I possibly could allow myself in the silence of the night.

I couldn't be mad at her for her indecency with the way she was innocently looking at me.

Her hand still stayed on my lap, and she asked, "Why not? You... don't like me?"

"It's not that." I said, "Nichkhun won't like it."

"But I'm his elder sibling. He can't... tell me what to do." Lisa pointed out.

I smiled. "I know you are, but he's currently in charge of taking care of you." I touched her cheek. "If he finds out about us, he'll destroy me."

"I won't let him..." she stared at me for a few seconds, looking for the right words, "... hurt you... I promise."

I nodded, while still smiling. My heart skipped a beat.

She traced the pattern on my nightgown and sneaked a glance at me.

I grinned, "What is it?"

"Jen... you won't ever leave me... would you?"

I was going to cry.

If Lisa got her memories back, maybe she wouldn't want me, but that was a risk I was willing to take.

"I'll stay as long as you want me here."

"I'll never stop wanting you." She whispered, her voice was raspy and her fingers now slowly tracing the lace on the hem of my gown. She applied gentle pressure on my thighs. "I feel... like..."

I urged her to go on.

"I feel like I'm myself, when I'm around you."

"Me too." I admitted. "I want you to get better Lisa, so you can remember everything that happened."

"What if I remember everything.... and..." she paused, she gave me a pained look, "... what if I forget you?"

I laughed, still feeling a little melancholic about what happens if Lisa does not remember me. "I'll make sure that you remember me again."

She pulled me close, and I wrapped my arms around her, while feeling her body relax against mine. There was nothing sexual about the embrace, only a sense of mutual contentment. And I was definitely falling harder for this broken person.
