Chapter 104

A spot of blood began spreading on Nichkhun's shirt. He clenched it tightly, while staring at his youngest brother in bafflement. "What the fuck, Lucas?! How dare you!"

"You killed Sorn, and now you're trying to kill Lisa, who gives me two thousand dollars for a monthly allowance! You gave me a hundred dollars only! I can't go back to that!" Lucas burst out.

"You little shit!" Nichkhun swore, totally frustrated. "Put that gun down! Now!"

He raised the knife again to stab Lisa, when another bullet penetrated his body. This time it went right through his neck. It was excruciating to watch someone die no matter how much you hated the person.

Lucas had fallen back with the force of the gunfire, and that's when Bambam appeared out of the shadows, wearing his pyjamas. "What's this ruckus all about?" he asked sleepily and then his eyes registered the horror in front of him. "Fuck!"

No one attempted to help Nichkhun as he choked, while spurting out blood. We all just stood there watching as Nichkhun breath his last few breaths.

Lisa pushed Nichkhun off her body and walked to where I was standing. "Jen, are you alright? I thought he shot you!" She said, with her fingers threading through mine. She was so relieved that I was okay. I touched her bloody face and tried to wipe the blood off it.

"Call 112." She told Bambam, while reaching for Lucas and taking the gun out of his hand.

Lucas, now having realised what had happened, asked, "Why isn't Nichkhun moving?"

Lisa didn't answer, and pulled Lucas in a hug, while turning his face away from the scene. "You shot him to save my life. That's what happened here."

Lucas was deadly silent at this point.

The way I saw it, this was poetic justice.

"Hello, this is the Manoban residence. We need help."
