Jennie

Lisa was so busy during the next few days. I would hardly see her because she would go to the company in the mornings and when she returned at night, she would be in her study and I didn't go there because I didn't want to disturb her.

I was curled up on the single leather couch under the blanket with a book in my hand. I was reading it but my mind kept going back to Lisa. I would always fall asleep before she made it home. Today, I was adamant about not sleeping. I was going to wait up for my spouse.

There was a knock on the door. Why was Lisa knocking?

I placed the book aside. "Come in."

I was giddy at the thought of seeing her.

Until Sorn walked in.

She looked shaken. "Jen."

She never so much as paid attention to me, and she'd always gotten sadistic pleasures from seeing me get hurt, so I was not buying into her damsel in distress demeanour.

I placed the book aside. "What do you want?"

She shut the door behind her and closed the distance between us. "Jen, I know that you hate me and you have plenty of good reasons to, but please, you have to listen to me."

I remained silent.

"You need to speak to Lisa; she can put an end to all of this. Tell her to talk it out with Nichkhun. We are no longer enemies. We can co-exist in this house. I will make Nichkhun understand."

My anger was ricocheting through these walls. This spawn of Satan was now acting like a victim, crying wolf when the tables have turned.

"Sorn, I don't know what drugs you have been taking to even think that I'm going to be moved by your crocodile tears, but it's not working. Nichkhun almost got both Lisa and I killed, remember? We survived an attempted murder. Lisa and I were lying on the ground with no one, within miles to even help us at all. You put us in that situation knowing that we wouldn't make it out alive, and you want me to forgive you?"

"I know what we did, and it's understandable, Jen. I'm so, so sorry for everything."

Hadn't I wanted this before?

Yes, I had imagined Sorn begging for forgiveness multiple times, but I never knew that it would actually happen.

"We did it because Lisa killed our parents in front of us. Do you know how traumatic that was? She took everything..." She reached out to take my hands. "Please Jen, talk to her, or they might end up killing each other."

I snatched my hand away. "It's none of my business. Now, please leave me alone and get out!"

I had never seen Sorn so heartbroken and stressed out, and part of me knew that she was planning something vile. Nichkhun was probably in this too, but I was smart enough now, to never let my guard down and trust both of them.

By coming to me and pleading for my help and mercy, they probably also wanted Lisa to have her guard down, so that they could strike again when we least expected it.

And I was going to make sure that will never ever happen again.
