Jennie

I was hyperventilating, my chest tightened with unadulterated fear, and my blood was running cold.

We were about to die. Austin was paid to commit a murder and suicide mission. We were going to die in cold-blood, and then they'd do the same to Bambam. Nichkhun wouldn't be foolish enough to keep any real Manoban heirs alive.

Lisa's eyes registered what was going to happen. She pulled me closer into her body as if to say that we will be together in death too.

"No!" I yelled.

The grim reaper was standing right there, knocking. He was about to take us away. But I refused to let death fuck up our plans! I refused to die before I found out the truth! Nichkhun and Sorn will pay for all their evil deeds!

I got hold of Lisa's shoulders. The car was moving straight ahead, and I knew that it would stop only when we'd get blown to bits.

"Listen to me carefully..." tears streaked my face, but I quickly wiped it. "We cannot die here! We won't! Your mother's dream was for you to become strong and succeed."

She nodded earnestly, while sobbing, "Yes."

"Then that's what we need to do. We cannot die!"

The car jerked forward with the bumps. "Do you trust me, Lisa?"

"Yes."

"On the count of three, open the door and jump out. We need to roll on our bodies. Do you understand what I'm saying? You can't mess this up baby, okay? I need you alive. I love you so much. Promise me!"

She nodded. "I promise."

I kissed her hand for hopefully not the last time. "You need to live, and if I don't make it..." I gave out a humourless laugh, "... just don't bury me in the Manoban cemetery."

"Don't say that, Jen!" She tightened her hold over my hand.

"I love you." I said for one last time. We only had a few critical seconds. Something was beeping loudly inside the car.

"On the count of three, Lisa..."

Few seconds later, I was lying on the ground, and injured. Lisa had rolled down the hill. A blast had erupted only a second after we'd jumped. I scrambled on the dirt, crawling to the other side of the road, with my body screaming in pain. I wanted to find my spouse.

"Lisa..." I called out.

An ongoing car flashed its lights and was speeding on the road towards me.
