"N/n! Mickey! Wake up you two lovebirds we're here!"
"Quiet Reggie, I've already been awake!"
We finally arrived to the cafe Reggie drove us to. I've been awake whenever I felt the minivan stop, thinking we arrived while it was the traffic lights signaling to halt. Mick, on the other side, is still asleep. "Mick, wake up. We're here." For once what caught me very abruptly, he wraps his arms around my waist, pulling me closer. "Five more minutes..."
"God, I can't with him," I mumble and smack the side of his head, leaping back. "Jesus Christ, N/n. What the hell?"
"I said wakey wakey, dumbfuck. Also may you please release your grip off my waist? Thank you." I flash him a smile as he looks down to realize his arms are indeed around my waist. Blush appears in matters of seconds and he hastily removed them from me. "Y-yeah. Sorry."
"Did Mickey Altieri just stutter? Again?"
"Reggie leave him alone. He's already embarrassed as he already was to me." I pull him close to me like how a mother would to her child whenever something uncomfortable happens. Mick, however, looked offended.
"You saying I'm an embarrassment?"
"No, I'm just joking with you. Besides, I'm the embarrassment to one another."
He puts on a face of disappointment with embitter. "You're not to me." My eyes take off Mick to glance at Randy, who now has his jaw dropped to the ground from what he heard. "Randy, I love you, but don't say a goddamn word." He only smirks and leaves the minivan with Reggie. Hallie, Sid, and Derek already left to begin with. I stayed because Mick would pull me closer as he was asleep.
The two of us were the last ones to leave as Reggie leaned behind his minivan to lock it. "Took you guys long enough. You two better not make out or anything before you left."
"Ju-just lock the door." Mick turns around from embarrassment. Reggie only chuckles and locks the minivan. He stayed for a second to see his reflection and to fix his dreads before he turned to the opposite direction. A second after, he takes my arm and moves me away from Mick.
"Hey Mickey, go with the rest of the gang. I'm going to talk with N/n for a bit."
He didn't bother to ask but he stood for a moment until he responded with 'okay' and left, talking with Randy.
"Reg, what was that for?"
"I think we both know why. It's Mick! He. Likes. You. For fucks sake, can't you notice?"
"Reggie, I love you and you know that-"
"I know," He interrupts and slightly chuckled. "But again, I'm just not sure if I'm ready to get in the game somehow."
"You never dated anyone in your nineteen years of existence while being in a desperate need for a loser who plays in a metal band."
"Okay first, I wanna be the loser in the band. Second, you don't need to expose me like that. And third, sure Mick is pretty cute, but I just like him platonically. I'm not sure when that will ever happen."
"Hold up, did you just call Mickey cute?"
"Can I not compliment someone once in a while?" The two of us laugh and caught up with the group.
Once we went inside and asked for a table for seven, we sat to a table in the middle. The cafe is pretty crowded, but Reg stated that it usually happens at this time of hour. Hallie sat across Reggie as him and Randy sat beside one another, Sid sat across from me, Derek across Randy, and Mick, per usual, beside me on my right. Reggie is on my left with Randy on his left also.
I stood quiet, intrigued in what everybody else was talking about. A sudden thought approached into my mind, causing me to laugh by myself.
"What's so funny?" I turn my head to Mick who is just casually smiling.
"Oh nothing, I just remembered that one scene from a movie."
"What movie?" He's going to tease me, I just know it.
"Romeo and Juliet..."
He starts laughing until he stops. "Wait a minute, why laughing?"
"I was thinking about the 1996 version of that movie. It was some gas station scene that made me laugh at the beginning, and I swear the pink headed Montague boy looks just like Randy."
"Are you really bringing this up?" Our eyes parted ways to be brought up with Randy's. "You know damn well it's true." I stick my tongue out jokingly as I bring my view back with Mickey's.
"Well, I didn't know you're very much into romance movies as well."
"You tease me and I'll make sure to lock you out of the dorm."
"Harsh, but I know you wouldn't dare try." He gives a slight smirk. I lean in slowly, slow enough that it took him a while to realize what was going on in the process, his face now turning red. Once our faces were an inch apart, I slap both my hands between his face, catching him off topic.
"Who knows?" I asked while I lean back, laughing. He rubs the side of his face with a slight annoyed expression. "Yeah whatever."
"Aww, is Mick blushing because he thought he was going to receive a kiss?"
"Since when did you become Reggie?"
"You didn't deny my question."
"I taught them well," Reggie told us. I turn back to give him a thumbs up as he does the same.
"You're really going to be like that, aren't you N/n?"
"It's called turning the tables, babe. You should know better." I close my eyes with a smile while sending him a shrug. Once I open them back up, a slight blush appears on his cheeks. Reggie was right, this is fun to tease Mick like this as a take back. It's cute.
"Babe? What!?" I send him one quick smile until our drinks came. "You know I'm just messing with you Mick." I take a sip of my coffee. Mick leans towards me to flick my forehead.
"There's my take back for that." He chuckles before he took a sip.
"Except, there's no way in hell you can get N/n to blush like how they could with you."
"Oh, fuck it." Mick muttered once Reggie spoke to his fact. Sid lets out a laugh and continues to drink her coffee. During our time, we just talked. I talked with Sid and Hallie throughout the time, especially Derek each couple of minutes. After an hour with chatting and almost three cups of coffee, we finally left.
"Hey Derek, what time is it?" Derek checks his watch. "Only 10am. There's still time before we head back."
"How about we could go for a drive around the town? There could be something that would catch our eye."
"Not a bad idea, Meeks. Everyone in the minivan." Reggie marched toward his minivan with Randy following beside, Hallie and Sid behind them, Derek behind Sid, and Mick and I behind Derek.
"I should call shotgun."
"No Mick, you're sitting in the back with N/n. I'm not going to deal with this."
"Whatever Derek."
Once we got inside the minivan, we headed back onto the road.
