Puppy Love

Y/N sat on a blanket and cringed at the textbooks next too her. She had thought coming outside to study would make her more productive, this wasn't helping at all. Y/N grabbed her back pack pulling out a small tupperware of watermelon and grabbed her notebook.

Chemistry was never a strong suit, but the watermelon was making it go by faster. Suddenly, a small dog ran into her lap, panting heavily she grabbed the small floof.

"oh Hello" she said lifting the dog in the air. The dog wiggled in her arms as she stood up holding it close to her chest. "What's you're name?" She whispered grabbed her collar the name 'Cassie' engraved into the shiny pink collar. Y/N laughed to herself "cute."

"Oh my god, CASSIE!" Y/N turned to see a young boy running towards her with a leach in his hand. He finally caught up to Y/N panting heavily. "Thank god...I thought I lost her..." He said between breathes. The boy suddenly looked up and his eyes widened slightly. Y/N smiles and scratched behind Cassie's fluffy ears.

"She's cute I was ready to take her home" Y/N said cringing internally about how creepy that sounded. She basically just admitted to almost stealing this cute guys dog. Welp, this couldn't get anymore awkward.

The boy took Cassie from Y/N arms and laughed. "Cassie has a thing for finding pretty girls, I'm Yungyu by the way" he said sticking his free hand out. "I'm Y/N.." she said blushing, shaking his hand lightly before sitting back down.

"You wanna join me?" Y/N offered moving her backpack. Yungyu stood there in shock for a second. 'She wanted to hangout? Maybe that pickup line worked better than I thought' he thought before nodding and sitting down next to her.

Cassie now laying down between then enjoying the sun."What's with all the textbooks?" Yungyu asked grabbing one and flipping through it. Y/N sighed rubbing her eyes, "I have a chemistry test, I thought maybe coming to the park would help me focus but yeah..." she said.

From there on their conversation seemed infinite. Getting to know each other in such a short time. It was dusk by the time the two had said goodbye. Just as Y/N turned to leave she heard Yungyu. "OH wait Y/N!!" he said frantically she turned and laughed at him being frantic.

"Could I have you're number maybe? We could go get coffee...or something?" he said awkwardly rubbing the back of his neck Y/N nodded before grabbing his phone and putting her number in. "Y/N <3" glowed from the screen, Yungyu blushed at the heart next to her name and saved it quickly before saying bye.

Later that night, Yungyu sat in his bed biting his nails debating whether it was safe to text Y/N right now. "You just saw her you creep" he said to himself putting his phone down. "What do you think, Cassie?" he looked to the small puppy who lay at the end of his bed. She gave him a tired look and snuggled more into his blankets.

"Okay fair enough, we can go to bed. BUT i'm gonna text her first thing in the morning" Yungyu  sighed and closed his eyes thinking about Y/N.

Later the next morning, Yungyu sat at the counter with a bowl of cereal in front of him.
'Just text her it's not that hard' He thought.

Y/N blushed at the thought of seeing Yungyu again. It hasn't been super long but she had already grown very fond of him...and cassie.

Soon enough, the two teens were sat at a table giggling as they shared food. "This is really good! Did you know about this place?" Yungyu asked her. Y/N blushed and looked at her plate, "I actually work here, so I guess I have a bias towards the food" she laughed looking at Yungyu.

"You're adorable" He said laughing at her awkwardness. She threw a fry at him, "Stop flirting!!" she said blushing even more. Yungyu shook his head and took another bite of his food.

"It's hard not to flirt when i'm with such a pretty girl" He said , Y/N hid her face with her hands and laughed softly. Yungyu grabbed her hands, "nooooo don't hide the pretty face!" he said. Y/N smiled at him, "well it's hard to be serious around such a pretty boy". Oh Yungyu could've proposed right there, she was adorable he thought.

After eating, they decided to walk around town and they even poked their head into a small bookstore. "Hello, Welcome in!" Yungyus friend, Kyungmin said while stocking shelves and talking to a small girl next to him.

"That's Kyungmin and his girlfriend" Yungyu said before dragging Y/N in the small store to look at the books. Y/N nodded and held tight onto Yungyu's hand so she wouldn't lose him.

She stopped and looked at the books. Her grip loosening on Yungyu's hand as she crouched down and grabbed a book. Yungyu placed his chin on her shoulder to see what she was looking at. "Let's get it!" he said excitedly, Y/N laughed at his puppy like behavior.

Before she could respond, Yungyu grabbed the book and raced to register to buy it. "Hyung! come do your job!" Yungyu said ringing the bell to get his attention. Kyungmin rolled his eyes and checked out the book. "Yungyu you don't have to pay?" Y/N said standing next to him.

He waved her off, "I want too, it's okay." Kyungmin smirked at the two and handed them the small bag. "Enjoyyy" he said looking towards his friend. Yungyu rolled and smiled "we will, get back to work Kyungmin" he said while grabbing Y/N's hand once again.

Somehow Yungyu and Y/N ended up at the park they first met sitting next to each other and taking turns reading the book Yungyu had gotten.
Y/N placed her head on Yungyu's shoulder listening to his soft voice read to her. "Tired?" she heated him say. "A little, you're just calming to be around" she said making Yungyu smile. He thought for a second before kissing the top of her head and continued reading. Both teens blushed as Yungyu silently thanked Cassie in his head for running into Y/N. Such puppy love.
