Y/N sat on her bed, literature textbooks and highlighters surrounded her legs with various snack wrappers. The soft sound of her study playlist played in the background as she read the same sentence for what seemed like the millionth time.
Her attention was diverted when a small 'ping' was heard from her widow. Y/N looked up pausing her music to listen better. The same noise was made only slightly louder, Y/N felt the anxiety creeping in her stomach as she slowly approached her window. 'Would've been better to get murdered after my lit test' Y/N silently cursed. Crouching down, she moved the curtains back slightly. With peeking outside she saw a hooded figure. Trying to get a good look at their face was near impossible to due to the darkness of the night.
"Y/n?" a voice whispered loud enough for her to hear it. Y/N's eyebrows furrowed at the sound of the voice. She let out a sigh of relief before opening the window, and suddenly being hit with a pebble. Holding her forehead she winced. "Oh my god, Im so sorry." Yungyu said pushing his hood back revealing his bright blue hair. Y/N pushed her window open wider and peered out. She saw her best friend, Yungyu, standing there pebbles from her yard in hand and a guilty smile on his face.
"Why are you here? Do you know how late it is?" she shouted in a whisper careful to not wake her family in the house. Yungyu scratched the back of his neck looking up to the window, "I couldn't sleep...do you wanna go get snack and sit in the park?" he shifted back and forth on his feet nervously. Y/N thought for a second before disappearing back into her room and pulling o the nearest shoes she could find. Yungyu stood patiently outside her front door as she quietly crept downstairs.
Suddenly, the door opened startling Yungyu. Y/N slipped out quietly, both wincing when the door creaked a bit too loud. They both let out a sigh of relief upon hear a 'click' signaling the door was closed. Both teens looked to each other smiling, "shall we?" Y/N said looking to Yungyu, he let out a short laugh and nodded.
They walked to the convenience store, Y/N winced at the florescent lights as they entered. "How long have you been studying in that cave of yours?" he questioned as he looked at the aisles of food with a small smirk present on his face. "Too long...I'm assuming you haven't studied for the literature test?" Y/N said, poking his shoulder. He scoffed and rolled his eyes, "stay mad that I studied before you and I'm VERY prepared" he said grabbing a bag of jellies and tucking them under his arm before turning to face Y/N.
She scoffed, raising her eyebrows, "So you didn't drag me out of the house in the middle of the night so you could procrastinate studying even more?" she questioned sarcastically. Yungyu's smirk faltered a little, Y/N had a habit of seeing through Yungyu easily. Yungyu thought about the abandoned textbook that sat on his desk and notes that were have filled out. He shook his head before trailing off to the drink. "Maybe, I just missed my Y/N" he hummed, grabbing a soda.
Y/N's cheeks flushed, she was used to Yungyu's rather flirty demeanor- especially to prove her wrong in any argument. Y/N followed behind him silently, Yungyu turned around and scrunched his eyebrows in confusion. "Why don't you have any snacks?" he questioned, Y/N shrugged. "I forgot to grab my wallet, I'm not that hungry anyways." she said, on cue her stomach let out a low grumble. Yungyu laughed, Y/N couldn't help but join in.
"Grab whatever you want I'll pay" he said, catching his breath and smiling. Y/N opened her mouth to object but Yungyu quickly disappeared not giving you the time to speak. Y/N sighed rolling her eyes and grabbed a few snacks and a drink.
Soon enough, they both checked out and headed to the park they often hung out at. They sat in silence on the swings, enjoying each others presence while they ate. Y/N shivered slightly, the wind cutting through the t-shirt she wore. Yungyu looked to the girl next to him and smirked to himself.
"Do you want my hoodie?" Yungyu offered setting down the bag of sour jellies by his feet. Y/N shook her head quickly before rubbing her arms, "no I'm okay really!" she said, making Yungyu roll his eyes. He unzipped his hoodie and placed it tightly around Y/N's shoulders. "I dont want you freezing" he said, the sharp coldness hitting his own skin. However, he ignored it.
To be honest, Yungyu thought about admitting his long time crush on Y/N right the and there. He watched as she slowly swung back and fourth while eating candy. A small smile placed fin her lips as she looked at the sky above them. "You look beautiful right now" Yungyu said, making Y/N quickly snapped out of her thoughts -mostly of the boy next to her- and looked to Yungyu with wide eyes. "what?" she said sounding almost unsure if she had heard him correctly.
Yungyu's face bright red and equally as embarrassed, his breath caught in his throat realizing what he had just said out loud. He stammered for a second before letting out a breath. "You look beautiful, Y/N" he smiled softly. Y/N let out a breath and nodded feeling her face and ears get hot once more, "thank you, Yungyu" she said smiling.
Yungyu walked Y/N in a comfortable silence the two still flustered from Yungyus words. Y/n's mind raced as she looked to Yungyu. They soon reached Y/N's door, she went to pull off Yungyu's hoodie but he quickly stopped her hand. "Keep it. You can give it back later" he said zipping up the middle of the hoodie. "Goodnight Y/N!" Yungyu said giving her a small hug, Y/N quickly made up her mind and caught Yungyu's wrist just as he turned to leave.
"I like you." she said, her heart pounded out of her chest as she watched Yungyu's face. Yungyu's face broke out in a wide smile, "I like you too" he said, moving to hold her hand tightly. "Maybe we can be a bit more than best friends?" Yungyu asked, making Y/N laugh and nod. "I'd like that, Gyu" Y/N said, her face unable to hold back her smile. Yungyu leaned in pressing a kiss onto Y/N's lips quickly. "Goodnight, love" Yungyu said pressing another kiss to her hand as he let go to leave. Y/N stood quietly in shock, "Goodnight!" she finally made out.
Upon entering her house, she turned to go back to her room but was stopped by the kitchen light on and her younger sister sitting with a glass of water. "Hmm sneaking off with your boyfriend?" she smirked taking a sip. Y/N rolled her eyes pulling out the bag of remaining jellies she had and tossed them to her sister. "Keep your mouth shut!" she said, making her way upstairs to her room. Her sister popped a jelly into her mouth and laughed, "gotta love midnight snacks."
