"Is this really the place?" I mumbled under my breath while eyeing a small local restaurant up and down.
Letters were missing in the sign, broken windows were covered up with newspaper, chairs and tables stacked outside the building while collecting dust and documents half pouring out of the slim crack in the door.

It looked so run down and desolate that it made me question if the place was even open.

"It has to be, Hoseok was sure this was the place." Jungkook replied, a hand on his hip as he too judged the restaurant.

"Well we'll just have to trust Hoseok, I'm sure he's right." I added on before carefully approaching the front entrance door. As soon as I did come close to the door, a strong gust of wind blew past which threw countless papers all over me.

"Fucking hell." I groaned before smacking the papers out of my face. Jungkook picked one off the floor, eyes narrowed as he read its contents.

"Apparently the rent has been overdue for months, all of these are notices to pay up rent arrears." He spoke, looking at another page. He crumpled up the paper and stuffed it into his pocket before moving closer to the door.

Just to be cautious, the two of us slipped on gloves to avoid leaving any marks. I gently pushed the door but nearly stumbled over as it swung open so easily.
Jungkook followed me inside, closing the door softly behind him.

The two of us were sent to go meet with one of our debtors, Hong Hyojin, who took out a couple of loans some time ago.
Today we were going to force her to cough up some cash otherwise she'd have to face consequences for not paying back on time.
Usually, Jungkook and Taehyung handled most of the loan sharking business but since Taehyung was in Sri Lanka and the Maldives with Seohyun for their honeymoon, I was asked to go in his position.

"It smells like absolute shit in here." Jungkook kissed his teeth, covering his nose to block out the foul stench surging through the restaurant air.

I couldn't grasp what the smell was exactly but since we were in a restaurant which seems like it's been shut down for months, I could only assume the smell was of rotting meat and fish.

"Be careful not to trip on anything." I warned Jungkook while we carefully weaved through the chaos of a place. It was equally as messy, with dusty stuff scattered everywhere, as it was outside. Maybe even worse.

We eventually made it through the kitchen and main room, leaving the uneaten food laid out on the tables and dirty dishes piling up in the sink, behind us. However, the more we searched deeper in the restaurant, the stronger the putrid stench became.

Jungkook was the first to enter inside the third room which we assumed was Hyojin's living quarters. His hands fumbled along the walls until the ceiling lights illuminated the room with a dull yellow.

I urged Jungkook to go inside first and followed behind him slowly. But almost instantly both of our feet froze to the ground in absolute shock.

A body was laying on the floor a few steps ahead of us. "That's Hyojin." I uttered out in disbelief. We both gazed at the body for a moment, not sure how to comprehend the situation.

Slowly, I walked over to the body and kneeled down beside it. I placed two of my fingers on her neck and then her wrist to feel if there was a pulse. "There's no pulse... she's out." I let out a sigh.

"You're fucking joking!" Jungkook growled as he kicked the door with anger. "She could've at least paid us back before dying for fuck's sake."

"She must've been dead for a while, explains the nasty smell." I blocked my nose from the odour reeking out of the corpse. I brushed my palms together before getting up to my feet.
"What do we do now?" I asked Jungkook who looked extremely pissed with his jaw clenched and eyebrows furrowed.

"I'm sure she kept some money lying around here somewhere and if not, we'll just have to take whatever has worth from here and sell it off." Jungkook explained, eyes scanning the living space intently.

"And the body?" I arched a brow, looking down at the corpse in front of me.

"That's the police's problem, we'll have to be careful when looking around the house." Jungkook replied. I nodded before the two of us began to search around the house discreetly, making sure not to make our presence obvious.
Since the living quarter was small, only one room, it didn't take too long to look around.

"I don't think she kept any cash at home... it must be in some sort of bank acc—"

"Jungkook look at this." I cut off Jungkook's sentence upon discovering something within one of the kitchen cabinets.
Jungkook rushed to my side as I opened up the door wider to reveal piles of small plastic bags with white powdery substances inside. He swiped one out and read the label before rapidly taking out more bags.

"It's ketamine and crystal meth." He whispered, running his fingers through his hair. "Now we know for a fact she died of drug overdosage."

"Okay... we'll just sell these drugs off and hopefully make some fraction of the money she owed us and obviously leave a few bags behind, so the police know how she died." I suggested.

"I'll get Hoseok to look into Hyojin's bank accounts as well, but I guess that's all we can do with this... who would've thought the damn woman would splurge all the loans on fucking drugs and then kill herself." Jungkook scoffed as he counted the number of plastic bags that were in the cabinet.

"And then we found her dead and Jungkook was pissed as fuck." I recalled the moment from earlier while sitting on Jimin's lap in the cinema room. It was almost midnight and we decided to just hang out there even though we weren't watching anything in particular.

"That must've been a show, Jungkook is like third ranked in getting pissed off in Bangtan. Namjoon and Yoongi obviously before him." Jimin chuckled as he wrapped his arms around my waist.

"Oh right, you don't happen to have met any clients who's willing to pay a sum for some drugs?"

Jimin hummed lowly. "I did meet a few today actually. What drugs are we talking about?"

I pulled out a photo of the hefty pile of plastic bags, all sealed and labelled. "Meth and ketamine, we found it in Hyojin's kitchen."

Jimin took a closer look at the photo, mentally calculating the number of bags and the total earnings we'd make from selling the drugs.

"I can get them to pay up quite a lot for all of that, they're dumb as shit so I'm sure they'd buy it for whatever price." Jimin answered as he nuzzled my neck.

"I'll let Jungkook know." I added on before typing away a text to let Jungkook know about the clients.

As soon as I pressed send, a notification popped up on my screen. Jimin looked over my shoulder while I read the notification out loud. My voice became evidently shakier.

"Are you okay Princess?" Jimin whispered softly. He took my hand in his and started to trace circles on my palm.
"Do you want to join me this year?" I questioned Jimin, looking up to meet his eyes.

"I'd love that." He simply replied before pulling me into a tight hug.

Today it was the day of my step-brother's death anniversary.
