Chapter 6 - Swimming Lessons

- {Shadow pov} -

We had made it to the shopping area, and the place was packed. Eyes followed us everywhere we went, and countless people shouted and pointed saying that they could see "Sonic The Hedgehog".

"Are you okay with people seeing us like this?" I whispered into Sonic's ear, as it pricked up.

He turned towards me, and gave me a confident smile.

"Sure I am!"

I smiled back at him, watching him look down at the floor.

I knew Sonic didn't like big crowds, and being a hero and all made it just that bit harder.

To make sure he was okay and that he knew I was here, I tightened my grip on his hand and he gave me a smile.

He was good at pretending everything was okay though, as he waved back at the people calling out his name. His smile was forced and painful to see, but I just let him do his thing.

"I don't think we can go shopping when there's this many people around" Rouge addressed, as we all grouped up, surrounded by many people.

"It's hard to tell exactly who they want to talk to"

"Well, it's not too hard to figure that out" Knuckles pointed out.

Everyone stared at Sonic who gave an awkward smile and a laugh.

"I suppose swimming is our only choice now then. I booked a private session inside so people won't be able to bother us then" Amy announced, looking over at Sonic who was beginning to regret his decision of coming with us.

"I think I'll just stay here and give out autogra-

"Come on" I pulled him with me, the crowd watching as we walked.

"Shads I'm terrified. I can't even imagin-

"Save that for later. Just calm down, okay? You'll be fine, I'm here" I tried to reassure him, as we hurried to the swimming place, following Rouge etc.

"Okay..."

...

We made it to the swimming place and it was all indoor so we were completely safe from the many people outside.

Everyone let out a sigh except from Sonic who was practically merging into me.

I held his hand tightly.

"Well, lets go and get changed ladies" Rouge said, flying over to the changing rooms.

"I expect to see you too Sonic" Amy spoke, following after Rouge with Sticks on her tail.

"Let's go!" Knuckles scooped Tails up and ran with him to the boys changing room.

I looked down at Sonic's terrified face. He was shaking like crazy and his ears were drooped down.

"Let's get this over with" I said, picking him up and walking to the changing rooms.

...

We had got changed and we were all waiting for Sonic to come out.

Maybe I shouldn't have left him.

"I'll get him" I said, walking back through the changing rooms.

"Sonic?" I called out, wondering what stall he was in.

"Sonic?" I repeated.

After about a minute I stumbled upon him, looking at himself in one of the mirrors.

"Are you alright?" I asked, noticing how funky his swimming trunks were.

Mine were black and had flames on them and Sonic's had weird spirals and random shit on them. Amy had totally given him them.
