𓆩♰𓆪 𝓡ebekah hadn't seen Alicent after that. She was unaware of where Alicent was slipping away to while she was supposed to be comforting Rhaenyra.

The past few weeks had been a whirlwind. Rhaenyra had been named Heir to the Iron Throne, a decision that stirred both pride and turmoil within the Targaryen family. Rebekah had also learned of Daemon's callous words regarding the deceased son, an event he cynically referred to as the "Heir For A Day," and she had celebrated his continued status as heir at one of the city's whorehouses.

Amidst these events, Rebekah hadn't noticed Alicent slowly slipping away from their usual interactions.

She had dedicated herself to ensuring Rhaenyra had enough to eat and rest in the wake of the news. The two Targaryen princesses walked arm in arm through the gardens, Rebekah choosing to delay her return to Summerhall in light of recent events.

"What's troubling you, Nyra? I can see it in your eyes. Tell me," Rebekah urged, her concern evident.

Rhaenyra knew she couldn't hide her feelings from Rebekah. "In the small council this morning, I offered a solution to Lord Corlys's problems with the pirates. He asked for a display of power, and I suggested dragon riders going out on dragonback. But Father brushed me off and sent me to pick a knight for the Kingsguard... he treated me like some naive child."

"I'm sure Corlys found your insight valuable," Rebekah reassured her, thinking of Lord Velaryon, Rhaenys's husband, and his likely appreciation for Rhaenyra's suggestion.

"He did, actually," Rhaenyra admitted, a small smile playing on her lips at the acknowledgment. "But if you had been there, Father would have listened and not dismissed me."

Rebekah understood the significance of Viserys's reliance on the Hand's counsel, likely the reason for Rhaenyra's sadness and tears. "Do you want me to speak to him on your behalf? I'd gladly do it if you asked. There are many things I want to say to him."
