𓆩❤︎𓆪┊The council was gathered. Rhaenyra sat at the head of the table and on either side sat her consorts. Rebekah is situated next to the Hand Rhaenys Targaryen being informed of what happened at Kingslanding.
Maester Gerardys stood in the dimly lit chamber, the weight of recent events pressing heavily on his shoulders. "It is yet unclear how the Keep itself was breached," he began, his voice grave.
"The boy's head was severed from his body. Thousands witnessed the procession."
Rebekah couldn't help but flinch covering her mouth to resist throwing up, knowing she bore partial blame. She had been intent on exacting revenge on Aemond. She did not know that Daemon would do all this. It had all backfired and taken Helaena's son instead. Of all people, she never wanted Helaena and her children to suffer for the faults of Alicent and Otto.
This was not what she wanted. Rebekah wanted Aemond to pay for killing her son Lucerys. It felt like yesterday when she had to gently break the news to their sons, Aelior, Aegon, and Viserys because Rhaenyra had abruptly left for Storm's End and Daemon was too busy plotting. The trio would occasionally sneak into her chambers at night, seeking comfort, and Rebekah would always welcome them into her bed, offering what solace she could.
