Chapter 5

It's 8:30 in the morning, and a pale ray of daylight comes through the window as I turn off my alarm.

Yesterday was a very long day. A lot happened and I feel tired just thinking of it.

I started to prepare my breakfast. Sunny side-up egg on buttered toast with a drizzle of honey, some Vienna sausage on the side, one banana, and a cup of hot chocolate. I don't drink coffee just so you know it makes my heart beat rapidly. I know it's ironic that I am working in a coffee shop but I just really don't drink coffee.

After eating, I washed the dishes and decided to read a few chapters of the book that I'm currently reading.

I texted Milly and Jakey that we have to be there by 1 in the afternoon because I still have to prepare my hair and makeup.

I took a bath, get dressed, and put a simple makeup. I usually don't put a lot on my face. My mom would always say that I don't need makeup at all.

Jake and Milliend arrived at around 11 am. We planned to eat lunch first before the shoot because we know for sure it will take hours.

We arrived at the venue and I was shocked because I never thought that it was going to be this big. There are a lot of famous people too.

I left Jakey and Milly in the snack room and proceeded to the hair and makeup station. As I'm getting glammed up, two good-looking guys approached me. I guess they are ambassadors too.

"Hi! errr I know staring is rude but I can't help it. You are so damn beautiful. By the way, I'm Mark and this is my friend Josh" he said while extending his hand for a handshake.

"Hello" was all I said as I accepted it.

They keep on asking me a lot of questions about my modeling career, my school, my course, and my love life. I hate it. I hate it a lot but I don't want to be disrespectful so I just let it slip.

A few moments later I was called for my turn. The two guys are still with me and keep on bragging about their cars and other stuff they owned. As if I care. duh!

A lady then approached us and pulled me gently on my wrist.

"Boys, this is not your playground. Photoshoot ito ng isang makeup brand. Mahiya naman kayo" she said as she rolled her eyes at them.

"Pasensya ka na dun sa dalawa. Those two are f*ckboys as they call it now. I heard your name is Sab, right? I'm Lexie, nice to meet you" she said without breaking eye contact.

"Nice to meet you too, and yes I'm Sab"

"It's our turn now for the photo shoot," she said smiling and I just nodded in response.

We are paired randomly by the producer and my partner is Lexi. I heard she is a famous volleyball player. She is nice and friendly but she talks a lot. She is pretty, has a nice physique and she's maybe two or three inches taller than me. I'm 5'6" by the way.

We were in the middle of the shoot when I felt someone staring at me. I look around and there she is standing close to the producer looking at me but still talking to her. Why is she here? Is the world really that small? I cursed in my head. ugh!

I came back to my senses when the photographer called us.

"Lexie, since you are taller than Sab, stand at her back and put your head on her shoulder. This is a close-up shot and I want your face really close to each other".

"There you go! Damn you look good together" he commented

"Now I want you to face each other and put your face close like you're about to kiss. Yes! Just like that! We want to emphasize the contour on both of your cheeks."

"Beautiful!" You both are so good! Now we will have a 15 min break"

Everyone applauded us. Lexi then pulled me for a hug. I was shocked, to say the least.

"Galing daw natin tapos bagay pa tayo" she said teasingly and raising her eyebrows

I just laughed awkwardly at her remarks.

After the 15-minute break, it's now my turn for the individual close-up. I sat on the stool chair as the photographer was preparing her camera.

"Clay, do you want to take it from here," the photographer asked Clay with a smirk on her face

Wait, what? Why? No! Why is she going to take my pictures? I mentally said

Confusion was obviously written on my face and I think the photographer saw it.

"Clay is my assistant photographer for today, Sab. She can take beautiful pictures too. I even saw some old pictures of you that she took and it was great!"

She said the last part in a low tone but that didn't escape my hearing.

Ughhhh! All I can think right now is sana lumindol tapos bumukas yung lupa tapos kainin na lang ako. Ayoko na! Ma, sunduin mo na ako this instant! But no, I have to be professional. I must not show her that I'm so nervous right now that I might faint. I heaved a deep sigh and composed myself.

"First, serious face muna" she instructed me.

"Nice," she said after taking some shots.

"Now, show me your best smile"

I followed what she said and showed my best smile.

"Ang ganda ganda mo Sab. I think it's illegal to be that beautiful" Lexie shouted on the side. I did not notice that she was watching me, actually all of them. I suddenly got anxious but remained calm.

I heard Clay scoff, "tsss bida bida!"

"Okay the last one, seduction" she said

In just a snap, I quickly lower my head a little bit, look at the camera and smize.

I saw Clay as she gulped while staring at me.

"Damn! That is hot!" Lexie commented again. And everyone looked at her.

"What? I'm just stating the truth" she said with conviction

"It's a wrap, everybody. Thank you very much for all your efforts today" the producer said after the shoot.

I went to Jaky and Milly right after the shoot. As we were about to leave, Lexie came and asked for my number.

"Bawal pa sya magka jowa sabi ng mga guardians nya" Jakey said and pulled me and Milly away.

The three of us laugh as we make our way out of the building.

We decided to eat out and have a little drink. I cannot escape this time because we are already together.

I'm treating them since they joined me today.
