Chapter 20

Sabrina Jasmin Delvan

I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing. With eyes still squinting I answer the call.

"Hello?"

"Sabrina Jasmin Delvan!" Milliend shouted at the other line as I moved my phone far away from my ear.

"Don't tell me you are not yet ready? Uminom ka nanaman ba kagabi? Sabrina naman eh! Today is the opening of our 8th branch and ngayon din ang blessing nun. I'll give you an hour to prepare. Be sure to be here after an hour or else Sabrina, makakatikim ka talaga ng lintik samin ni Jake"

She didn't even give me a chance to speak and just hung up the phone.

Shit! I'm dead.

I stood up right away and took a bath. I already asked Nanay Irma to prepare my clothes and also informed Kuya Raul that we will leave right away after I prep myself.

We arrived at our destination very fast. Thank God, Kuya Raul knows a lot of shortcuts.

"Blessing to beh hindi burol" Jake said

"Nagdress ka nga black naman. Naka Shades kapa at talagang nag black long gloves ka pa" It was Milly.

The two of them looked disappointed but the concern was still visible on their faces.

Yes, it's been five years. A lot happened to me in those years. But one thing remains and never left me— loneliness.

Months of waiting for her turned into years. It's like waiting for rain in a drought— useless and disappointing.

I'm so lost.

Parang nawalan ako ng pakiramdam. Nawalan ako ng emosyon. I lost all my love.

I just smile and pretend every single time. Telling myself that I will be alright.

I don't know when, I don't know how but hopefully soon— kasi pagod na pagod na ako pilitin ang puso kong kalimutan sya. Pero dapat. Kailangan.

In those 5 years, we managed to put up eight branches of our coffee shop. Jakey and Milly are now managing their family businesses too.

I worked hard to be where I am right now. Aside from being a model, I became an actress too.

 Working became my momentary remedy.

I am still under the same agency and supervised by my manager Kia. I also have Nanay Irma who is helping me at home and Kuya Raul, my driver, and personal bodyguard.

The five of them became my strength in all this chaos.

We are now eating as the blessing ceremony just finished.

"Dahan dahan naman Sabrina. Ngumuya ka naman" Jakey shouted at me

"7 pm pa last night ang last kain ko and what? 3 PM na ngayon oh, I'm famished," I said with my mouth full

They all looked at each other while I continued eating. I know they are just concerned but what can I do?

"You have a fan signing event later at 6 pm at Moon Mall," Kia said while drinking her soda

I just nodded in response as I finished eating.

"Just let me know if we're gonna talk about our 9th branch. Okay? I have to go na" I said looking at Jakey and Milly

"Sab, we love you so much. Always know that we are here for you. Please take care of yourself. Even our parents are worried about you." Milly said as she hugged me tightly and Jakey later joined

"I know. I love you guys too! Please tell your parents that I'm fine and I'll visit them soon"

I kissed both of them and bid them goodbye.

Kia and I went to the agency for the briefing on the fan sign event.

Aside from Kuya Raul, the agency hired a lot of security for my safety. I am having a number of crazy fans and stalkers lately. That's why they are extra careful.

The event was successful and thankfully everything was in order.

It's half past nine in the evening and I just arrived at my house.

"Anak, gusto mo ba ipaghain kita ng hapunan? Nanay Irma asked

"No, thank you po nanay marami po akong nakain sa blessing nung coffee shop kanina. Thank you po. Akyat na po ako nay"

I went to my room and opened the mini fridge and got myself a can of beer. I sat on the bedroom sofa and opened the television and scanned for a movie to watch. As I'm choosing a movie, I got a text from Milly stating that Jake is drunk at a bar and the bartender called her and asked her to fetch Jakey.

I quickly ran downstairs and got my keys and left. I didn't bother on telling nanay Irma because I know she is already sleeping. I also didn't wake Kuya Raul because I know he is tired from the event earlier.

I drove to the said bar and found Milly and Jakey at the corner table while Milly was caressing Jakey's back.

"What happened?" I asked as I approached them.

Milly just shrugged. Apparently, she also didn't know what happened.

"Jakey, I'm here na. Milly is here too. Let's go home?"

"I don't want to go home," he said while sobbing

"Okay. How about we go to my place? You can stay there muna"

He nodded and we helped him walk to my car.

We got home safely and we helped him settle into one of my guest rooms.

Milly also decided to stay for the night.

The next day, I woke up early to help Nanay Irma with breakfast. I also want to prepare soup for Jakey.

After cooking I woke them up. We are now at the dining table eating breakfast.

"If you are ready to talk, we are here for you. Okay?" I said while staring at Jakey.

He just nodded in response.

"Your birthday is next week, what's your plan?" Milly asked to change the topic

"I'm thinking of going to the beach for my birthday. I think I deserve a break."

"Good! Puro ka na lang kasi work"

"I have a friend who owns a beach resort. We can rent the whole place para secured ka."

"Sounds great! Thank you, Jakey!"

We finished eating and they decided to stay to bond over Netflix.
