Chapter 38

I woke up dazzled by the sunlight peeping through the hospital window.

I tried to move but my left foot is on cast. I looked at my hand and it is wrapped in bandages as well.

I wander my eyes through the room and saw a familiar face.

"Where is she?" I asked her.

"She is fine. She just caught a fever. She is just sleeping maybe because of tiredness. But overall, she is fine. I'll call the doctor first to check on you."

I just nodded in response.

Thank God she is fine.

The last thing I remember was her singing a lullaby to me.

The doctor came a few moments later and did some tests on me.

"Hi, Miss Clay. How are you feeling now?"

"Hi Doc, I'm feeling much better now. Thank you."

"But you still have to rest. Your left foot is fractured because of being stuck on a huge rock. Your hand that was not treated right away got worsened. Aside from that, you have a lot of wounds on your back and scratches on your whole body. This is not a joke miss. You have to take a rest."

I just nodded in response. I know my body suffered a lot last night but I really want to see Sab right now.

Her words still echo in my head. I can't stop thinking about the things she said yesterday.

"But look, who is still madly in love with you? Ikaw lang yung consistent sa buhay ko— you do not falter, even after all those years. Ikaw pa rin."

The doctor left and Saxe told me everything that happened.

I'm still a bit weak and sleepy at the same time so I decided to rest first before I check on Sab.

A few moments later I woke up when I heard someone wailing. Parang namatayan ang pag hagulgol nito.

I felt her pull the blanket out of my face.

It was cold earlier so I decided to cover my whole body with the hospital blanket.

When I realized it was Sab who was crying so desperately I didn't try to move and just listen to what she was trying to say.

"Baby! Please... why? Wake up, please! Don't leave me again."

"Wake up please!"

"Baby, please don't leave me."

"Baby, please wake up! Baby, I love you so much. Sorry for being pakipot. I will not na, just wake up baby!"

"Baby, I love you."

Oh! She thought I'm dead. This is so freaking hilarious but I'm fighting the urge to laugh.

I don't want to interrupt her confession anyway.

She keeps on crying and almost losing her breath.

I decided to stop pranking her baka ano pang mangyari sakanya.

"Baby," I whispered

She immediately stopped crying and looked up.

"Clay?" The only thing she said and hugged me right away still sobbing

I heard Kia and Drew chuckle so I signaled them to go out.

Saxe and Nikki followed too.

"Love, please stop crying na baka anong mangyari sayo."
