Chapter 11

Clay Blaise Milfort

Flashback

It's my first day in college. I told my parents that I want to study at a different school but they insist that I go to Milfort so that Dad can watch over me. As an obedient daughter, I followed their request.

I was driven to school by my personal driver on a sunny Monday morning.

As I walk through my way to my room, my world stop turning when I saw on one of the university's old benches the most beautiful girl I laid my eyes on.

Her long hair flew in the wind, her beautiful emerald eyes, and her smile, damn! that sweet smile that can stop a war.

Am I in heaven? How can a girl be this beautiful? I asked myself.

I'm now staring at her, studying and memorizing her face. Then I remember that I always bring my camera with me. I took a stolen shot of her–- a lot actually.

Damn! She takes my breath away.

I sat on one of the chairs at the back of the room and just like in the old days, the first week is usually for introductions. Each was called in front to introduce themselves and tell something about themselves too.

The third student in the first row stands in front and introduces herself.

"Hi, I'm Sabrina Delvan and I do part-time modeling"

Everyone gasped because of her beauty and I'm actually one of them.

I can't stop stealing glances at her the whole time.

I was called last to introduce myself. I walked in front and glanced at her quickly before speaking.

"Hi, I'm Clay and I love to play the piano"

"Clay? What is your last name?"

I actually don't want to say my last name. I don't want them to think that I'm different from them because I'm the daughter of the university's president.

"Clay Milfort ma'am" I answered.

And like a familiar scene, everyone gasped as I said my last name.

After dismissal, I went to my dad's office.

"Hi, dad!" I greeted him and kiss him on the cheeks.

"Hi Clay, how's your first day? He asked

"It's good dad, very good," I said grinning.

"You seem happy"

"Dad, I think I already found the girl of my dreams"

"That's nice sweetheart. Is she beautiful?"

"Dad, beautiful is an understatement. I think I'm in love"

"Easy there tiger! That is too early to say"

"No dad, I'm certain."

The next day I saw her at the cafeteria with I guess her new friends one guy and a girl.

I took up all my courage and went to their table.

"Hi, Uhmm can I share seats with you guys? I said smiling

"Sure! Clay right? I'm Jake this is Milliend and this is Sabrina" He said while gesturing.

"Hi, guys! Nice to meet you! I said shyly.

I am sitting in front of her at a four-seater table, beside me is Jake and Milliend in front of him.

I'm smiling ear to ear but trust me, I think I'm gonna be insane any minute now.

I saw her trying to open her canned soda but not getting any luck.

I offered to help her and she gave me the can right away. I stiffen when our fingers touched and I felt the electricity travel through my whole body.

Oh gosh, what is she doing to me?

It's been months since the first-day kick-off. I started giving her flowers and chocolates sometimes handwritten letters too, we once talked about how she likes handwritten letters because she likes writing one too. I asked her if I can court her and gladly she said yes. We also go out sometimes. If not just the two of us, we often go out with Jake and Milliend.

I'm planning to ask her to be my girl but still waiting for the perfect time.

The four of us became really close. If there are group activities at school the four of us will always be together or if it is by pair, it is me and Sab.

I finally got the courage to ask her to be my girlfriend. So I planned on taking her out on a date.

I fetch her from her apartment and we first went to the mall to watch a movie since it was just four in the afternoon.

After the movie we ate at a fancy restaurant then I took her to a butterfly garden.

As we are walking I took all the courage to speak.

"Sab, I have something to tell you"

She faced me and I held both her hands.

I tried to calm my heart so I can confess my feelings to her. Our eyes met and there goes the butterflies in my stomach again.

"Sab, we've been friends for a while now, and I find myself really drawn into you. I'm not the best at putting my feelings into words, but here I am, trying, because I do really care about you. Just thinking of seeing you, hearing your voice, and seeing your beautiful smile is enough to make me so happy. I've liked you since we first became good friends. Sabrina Jasmine, can you be my girlfriend?"

She didn't say a word but I saw tears forming in the corner of her eyes. And without a word, she kissed me on my cheeks and hugged me.

"Sab? Is that a yes? I asked because I don't want to assume things.

She removed her hands that is hugging me earlier but still standing close to me and said,

"Yes! I like you too, Clay, and yes, I want to be your girlfriend"

I suddenly can't breathe because of what just happened but I just ignored it and hug her tightly.
