Winnie was sat in the carriage as she carefully tended to her wounds.

The bruises on her face would soon fade and the small cuts would wither away without leaving scars, they weren't deep enough.

As for the rope burn around her neck, she shook as she bought her hand up to touch it.

It was a feeling she recognised all too well and hadn't felt in a while.

But since she had experienced it before, she knew it would fade too.

The real issue was the gash in her arm. That one would leave a scar.

Just another to add to the collection.

She slowly began unbuttoning her waistcoat and removed it, placing it on the seat next to her.

She moved onto the buttons of her mesh top, she needed to take it off to have full access to the wound.

The fabric of the sleeve had begun to merge with the bits of blood that had dried around it, causing it to throb with pain every time she peeled it back.

She eventually got it off and placed the top beside her waistcoat, leaving her sat in her black lace bralette.

Nerves filled her mind, causing her to pull her waistcoat back on, but the pain from her arm didn't allow her to do up the buttons.

If one of the others walked in on her now, the waistcoat would cover her up enough that she would feel more comfortable than if she didn't have it on at all.

She reached into one of the compartments of the carriage to find aid supplies just in case whoever was travelling was ambushed.

She pulled out some cloth and rubbing alcohol to disinfect the wound as well as some more cloth to wrap it up once she was done.

As she laid out the things she would need onto the seat opposite her, the carriage stopped moving.

Seriously?

A few seconds went by before Kaz swung open the door. It was still dark out, so Winnie knew they hadn't yet reached their destination.

His eyes glanced at her almost bare chest, and he averted his gaze.

"Sorry."

"It's fine. Is there a problem?" she asked.

"Jesper has finally told me what he knows, and I think you should hear it."

Winnie nodded and Kaz stepped into the carriage and took a seat opposite her, not moving the aid supplies.

Once the door closed next to him, the carriage started moving again.

Winnie leaned across and picked up the rubbing alcohol and piece of cloth.

"What did Jesper have to say", she asked as she dabbed the liquid onto the cloth.

"He knows where Alina is", Kaz said as he watched her every move carefully.

"Yeh, well, so do we. She's back in the Little Palace", Winnie said as she placed the lid back on the alcohol bottle.

"No, she's not."

Winnie looked up at Kaz, confused.

"Then where is she?"

"In the cargo hold."

Winnie turned her head to face the back of the carriage.

"This cargo hold?" she asked.

Kaz nodded.

"Huh, what are the odds", she said bringing the piece of cloth up to her wound.

She let out a hiss of pain as she felt the sting of the alcohol against her open gash, flinging her head back.
