The next day Lilith woke up in Wednesday's arms, and she wished this joyous moment wasn't tainted with the pain of yesterday. They ended up cuddling the whole day before finally falling asleep. But yesterday was an absolute disaster. Knowing that Wednesday had only said the things she did because she was heartbroken over a misunderstanding, made it a little easier to put it behind her.
But not completely.
Wednesday's hurtful words were seared into her mind. Even if she knew the words weren't true, she couldn't forget them.
"I don't want to see you!"
"I want nothing to do with her!"
"Because I hate her!"
She didn't think they'd ever stop echoing in her mind. Each replay was like a stab through her heart. She pressed her hands over her ears in attempt to block them out.
"Oh, you're awake," Wednesday said softly. "Good morning."
Lilith turned to look her. Of course the goth was wide awake already. She's probably been up for at least an hour before her. She pushed herself out of Wednesday's arms and into a sitting position. "Morning."
Wednesday sat up too, watching her worriedly. "You had covered your ears, are you okay?"
Lilith nodded half heartedly. "Yeah, yeah, I'm..." she trailed off. She gave Wednesday a whole speech of communication yesterday, but the goth wasn't the only who needed to do better. Lilith sighed. "No, not completely."
Wednesday placed her left hand on her lower back and grabbed her hand resting in her lap. "What's wrong?"
Lilith hesitantly met her eyes. "I can't forget what you said."
Wednesday's face fell and she slowly pulled her hands away. "Oh. I see."
Lilith quickly grabbed Wednesday's hands before she could get the wrong idea. "That doesn't mean I don't love and don't want to be with you. I do, I promise." She sighed rested her forehead on her shoulder. "It's just harder to forget about than I thought it would be."
Wednesday leaned her head against hers. "Tell me what you can't forget? What words plague you?"
She shook her head. "Don't make me say it."
"I can't fix it if I don't know."
She sighed. "I don't want to see you. I want nothing to do with her. And, I hate her."
Wednesday kissed her head. "I'm so sorry. Now allow me fix it." She gently made Lilith lay back down as she eyed her confused. "If those words play in your mind, then I'll replace them with new ones." She straddled her waist and brought their lips together in a soft kiss. "I want to see you everyday." She kissed her again, a little deeper, a little longer. "I want everything to do with you." One more kiss where she slid her tongue in Lilith's mouth. "And I love you so much." She started to kiss her jaw.
But Lilith's eyes widened as she remembered she has a roommate. "Wait, Yoko."
Wednesday continued kissing her cheek and working over her entire face as she spoke in between them. "Not here. She had a breakfast date ... with Divina. Now let me ... worship you."
Lilith was blushing at this point, but they still had one more problem. "I should probably take my medicine before we continue."
Wednesday paused. "Yeah, that's good idea." She reached over to Lilith's nightstand and grabbed them for her from the top drawer.
She quickly swallowed them with the water bottle on the nightstand. "Hey, where's Cloud?"
Wednesday shrugged. "Hiding around here somewhere. May I continue now."
